The point is if a Republican cartoonist(say Bruce Tinsley) did the same thing to black Dems..it would be deemed racist. And EVERYBODY here would be criticizing him.

Now, *that* just might be racist. Or, it might just be comparing her to a famous fictional character -- who just happens to be of the same race -- from one of the biggest movies of all time.

If (when) a black man compares me to Ebenezer Scrooge, I don't consider that to be a racist comment.

Oliphant, an immigrant to this country, has made a career out of "in your face" cartoons.

Like many of today's media stars, he has exchanged honor for the prestige, money, and ego boosts that can come from being a puppet for deep pockets like the NYT.

In this case, I think most fair minded Americans will agree that his racist presentation of the just elevated Condi Rice was deplorable......but he will be protected by Mr. Salzberger.

Yeah...and we all know how overt Democrats are about anything. The fact is we have seen a pattern when it comes to the Left's description of Rice...whether it was the paradody of Rice to the music of "Mona Lisa"...or the aluminum tubes. When there is such a history of this, it is not unreasonable to attribute racial overtones to anything these people do.
What's fascinating is that liberals would continue to do this when they know there is a sensitivity with this issue...especially since they are the Party that insists we be conscience of other people's sensitivities. Putting the racism aside...it's the hypocrisy!
