Was not the reporter under the duty to hand over this tape to military authorities, under the rules of imbeds? If that's the case then strong measures should be taken against Sites. Also has Sites been removed from that Marine unit, because at this point i"m sure his presence is a distraction to the Marines and therefore endangers their lives. Sites has to be removed from that unit at the very least.
I don't want any Marines to have a direct connection to the death of Sites. That would be a tragedy. Now, were he left to his own devices to find a ride out of Falluja without Marine protection, that's a whole nuther matter.
LW Media Bias at work. Thanks a lot Kevin....

Remember one thing folks, these men now in the military are tomorrows leaders. May their memories be long, and may some of us be around to remind them. Semper Fi
Well, you are tiresome, there are crimes that require intent and some that don't. There are strict liability crimes for example. So motive is not always necessary element. Please review your criminal law notes from your MailU institution.
Right, but "intent" is not the same as "motive," now is it?
There are strict liability crimes for example.
Which goes against your claim that you need to prove motive before you can prove a crime, don't you think?
So motive is not always necessary element.
But you just claimed that it was.
So, you voted for motives before you voted against them. Gotcha.
And trust me, I almost certainly went to a better law school than you.
Oh, puh-leeze. They will portray the occupation of Iraq as a fascist imperialist bla bla bla war for oil regardless of what is or is not made known to the American people.
After a while, people tune out verbal and printed rhetoric.
However, a misrepresented photo or video has an extremely powerful emotional effect.
As I noted, before the Abu Grahib photos were leaked, neither the U.S. Liberal media nor even the Arab street paid any attention to reports that the U.S. Army was prosecuting some servicemembers for prisoner abuse at Abu Grahib. After the photos were released, the photos caused a mass hysteria that severely hampered the war effort.
Photos are red meat thrown in front of the Liberal and Islamist pitbulls and, whever possible, it is best to keep the pitbulls on a diet.
Are you dull? If you don't get the point that there are different kinds of crime that require different level of "intent" that's too bad. Lastly I never claimed that all crimes require motive. But some do and the motive for Sites actions are clear for all to see except obviously you.Perhaps you should learn to understand an argument before you try to oppose it. Did they have remedial rational thaught at MailU?
Or can Sites be charged because he withheld crucial information that another Marine squad he had been with had previously engaged the Iraqis? This he knew and told no one.

I get that point quite well.
Lastly I never claimed that all crimes require motive.
From your post #164:
"Motive is the fist step in proving a crime"
Sen. Kerry ain't got nothing on you when it comes to flip-flopping.
But some do and the motive for Sites actions are clear for all to see except obviously you
One more time- motive is not an element of any crime.

If the Pentagon follows the Kerry precedent they should give him the Bronze Star (plus combat Vs).
Unlike others here I don't claim to know what th rules of imbed are and what vetting took place for this story, but the more this story develops, the more it becomes clear that Sites sidestepped some of the process.I am convinced that the USMC would never have allowed such controversial video to be released that allowed easy and clear identification of the marines in it,therebe exposing their families to anxiety, grief and possible danger.I hope Sites is dealt with harshly by the proper authorities and if he lives anywhere in the US Good Luck to him going about his Town !
You can keep saying that! It does not make it so. BYE BYE!
Kerry is surely supporting this shooting given his record in Vietnam! Kerry supporters just can't help themselves!
I don't know the rules either, but IMO, knowing wounded fighters - possibly armed, are holed up in a building and not revealing that one has prior knowledge of the situation is no different than knowing an allyway is packed with explosives or mines and allowing Marines to make the bodycount just for his story.
I hope the Marines figure out this troll and does him justice.
Oh, and I hope he gets pictures of it too.
What was the Martin Sheen line from Apocalypse Now?
"charging a man with murder in this place was like handing out speeding tickets in the Indy 500"
I think you've been smoking too much of what you tried (unsuccesfully) to name yourself after.
I have no idea what you are talking about. On the other hand you seem quite up to date with the nomenclature of such products. Are you in the business? Enjoy yourself then!
