I made the mistake of listening to Savage again last night, and he AGAIN blasted Rush Limbaugh, calling his show really boring, calling him a fat loudmouth, "Mr. Gulfstream", saying no one wanted to hear Limbaugh talk about the election anymore...
He said a few more things, but the exact verbiage escapes me.
He also said numerous times that he will not discuss politics anymore, then quickly goes into it. He also took yet another series of swipes at President Bush and Arnold S.
He claims that Arnold has a big ego, is a disgrace, and has done NOTHING for California. He also says that his approval rating is disastrous, not nearly as high as the polls.
This guy, Michael Weiner, er Savage, is the disgrace. He's a bi-polar nut-job, who has the biggest ego this side of O'Reilly.
What a jackass.
Last night he was quite depressing. I had to switch to NPR to find something more positive! No kidding!
He gets upset sometimes, but I don't let that bother me. The topic about him not going into politics and then gradually moving into politics because some of the days issues relate to that, was quite funny. Limbaugh was good up until the run up of the election, but he's boring sometimes now. I also don't like how he tries his best to make up for Bush sometimes.
Savage beats Limbaugh on that message. Savage says what he thinks, Limbaugh will side with Bush no matter what.
Because some people are just plain stupid and ignorant.
I hope WABC gets their internet stream going again soon. I like to catch Levin during cocktail hour.
He appears to be suffering from manic-depression. He's quite put out by the fact that he isn't being taken seriously as a conservative voice, and like O'Reilly, Franken, et.al., is attempting to get noticed by attacking people like Rush and Hannity. Rush doesn't take the bait.
I rated Levin among the best (just below Rush) - see post #44.
He sure sounds that way.
Savage does have bi-polar, one day he says he supports the president the next day he bashes him, hes all ove the map, Savage is like a woman with really bad PMS...
"Savage = Art Bell"
Great comparison. Both are "out there", both have a grain of truth in what they talk about, both make you think, and both are entertaining.
I would be happy to see Savage off the air. He does our side no good. He is an embarrassment.
His book "Savage Nation" sucked too. I bought it and couldn't even get through it. Just ranting. Total bore and a disgrace.
I don't think it was reckless. As you and others have said, he's all over the place. I don't think anyone takes his "endorsement" seriously. If you did listen leading up the election, he did say he voted for Bush and said there was no other real choice.
>>Last night he was quite depressing. I had to switch to NPR to find something more positive! No kidding!
Yeah I switched him off as well. Had a CD to sing-along to and got home in much better spirits than if I had listened to him for the entire 45 minute commute.
One thing I miss about him since he went national is all the local stuff he would rag on. He still does on occassion, but not like before (whcih was what got me hooked on him originally).
As my brother says though, "He's a nut job".
Savage strikes me as being one who is teetering on the edge of sanity.
Was he talking about Rush? I got the impression he was talking about his direct competitor in the NYC market, Mark Levin.
I love Mark Levin. Why doesn't he do more TV? WABC is still doing their streaming update. I haven't been able to hear Mark for days. I truly miss him.....
Here is an example of what I am talking about. During the campaign in the spring Bush floated (yet again) this notion of amnesty for illegal aliens. This is nothing but outright pandering for hispanic votes and campaign donor money for those who use their cheap, but illegal labor. Sean Hannity and other conservatives/Republicans called it a politically motivated move. No big deal. However, Rush spent a whole hour telling his audience that it was "principled". Now who is kdding who. I had to turn him off that day.
Savage is a monsoon.
Calling Rush "Mr. Gulfstream" = jealousy!!
His anger on the right is no more popular than the anger on the left. It's that simple.
I'm not surprised.
I don't listen to Savage much but on and off over the years, I've heard him take some shots at Limbaugh...usually criticizing those who talk about "cigars and their golf score".
This, I think, would be the first time I've heard him mention Limbaugh by name.
You do now!
