On the website of the group that's running ads that support changing the Constitution to let Arnold run for the White House, it says ...
About the Founders of AmendUs.org --- Lissa Morgenthaler-Jones and Mimi Chen ...
Lissa and Mimi were roommates freshman year at Princeton University. ... Lissa's a libertarian-turned-RINO (Republican in name only) and Mimi's a member of the Green Party.

I like Arnold and I respect him. But, I wouldn't change our Constitution for one man today, and leave that door open for foreign liberals in the future

These people know it'll never happen they just love to post these stories to see how many anti-Arnold comments they can garner.

Tell me there aren't people seriously pushing her candidacy, please!
This has to be a joke.

>>>>Sure, a lot of people like Ahnold, but it's the other potential presidents that present a huge threat to our country. In my book, its "Ahnold"! Conservative Republicans just finished a tough fight to assure that a social liberal didn't make it to the White House. GovRino is a social liberal in the grand tradition of John Kerry and Ted Kennedy. We don't need to be amending the Constitution so some Hollyweird icon can have an opportunity to run for president. The American people won't go for it.

One thing I find interesting is that both Orin Hatch and John McCain are pushing this.
Thats reason enough for me to have doubts going in.
Im saying it again...watch out for Orin Hatch...I do not trust that man.

Republicans have a bench -- we don't need Arnold -- Democrats have a short bench.
To: Dat Mon
Nor do I. McCain and Hatch are enemies of the Republican Party.

Name three more electable Democrats than Jennifer Granholm. I can name two, and it's debatable as to whether Hillary! is more electable.

They see constitutional bans on abortion and same sex marriage to be "exclusionary" whereas they see an amendment to permit the election of foreigners as President to be "inclusive".

but it's the other potential presidents that present a huge threat to our country
Shouldn't the electorate be able to decide that? If they are stupid enough to elect a foreigner who posses a problem to our security, they would be able to elect an American-born who is terrible for our security as well. Not that the situation might arise where a foreigner is better suited than a native, but that clause shouldnt be there in the first place. It serves next-to-nil purposes and just alienates naturalized citizens.
I dont know, and I might be wrong, but I heard the native-born clause was placed in the constitution to prevent any chance of British dominating our politics should the tides change. I dont believe it is a problem anymore.
PS. Clinton is eligible to run for the highest office in France because he was born on a former French territory (Louisiana). The two should be perfect together. To bad for Bill France is only now instituting marriage lite.

We need to amend the Constitution to forbid anybody born in Massachusetts from running for President

Ugh.
The "party of Jackson" has reached a new nadir, I'll concede that much.

Sure, a lot of people like Ahnold, but it's the other potential presidents that present a huge threat to our country.I agree completely. I do like Arnold, but I don't want him paving the way for Kofi Annan to run for President.

I don't want liberals anywhere near a constitutional convention. They're trying to destroy the consitition via activist judges. I can only imagine the horrors of a convention. Jim

I do not like the idea at all!
To: churchillbuff
Tell you what... you let us know the instant Arnold says he would like to run for President. Until then this is just garbage and innuendo.
