I support the sentiments expressed. In fact the infanticide issue is one to FIGHT over. My young daughter believes the same. That is two. Hell I'm not even religious it is only common sense. Abortion is murder. Now we have euthanasia arguments. The slipperey slope people are right.
I trusted Bush to do the right thing with judicial appointments, and frankly if he allows Specter to interfere with the process in any way that's it, as far as I'm concerned.
The war on terror is extremely important. But if we keep going down the road of abortion and perversion our country will not be worth saving. Millions of religious Republicans will withdraw from the struggle if they are betrayed yet again.
I'll put up with compromise on some issues. I think the "No child left behind" program is a stupid boondoggle, because education can only be done on the local level. But I'll put up with it. Not, however, with a failure to appoint a steady stream of solid, conservative, pro-life judges. That would simply be unacceptable.
Specter is the rock in the middle of the road. Bush would be a fool to trust to his good will or his word. He has broken his word too often before, and recently too.
He doesn't just give advice to the president as AG.
snippet from usdoj.gov/ag/index.html...
The Attorney General, as head of the Department of Justice and chief law enforcement officer of the Federal Government, represents the United States in legal matters generally and gives advice and opinions to the President and to the heads of the executive departments of the Government when so requested. The Attorney General appears in person to represent the Government before the U.S. Supreme Court in cases of exceptional gravity or importance.
So he will have thousands of liberal career government lawyers just itching to go after pro-lifers.
And he's already said the Consitution is a "living" document.

I say all TRULY good conservatives should oppose Gonzales as AG.
Some even think the AG position is a warm up for the Supreme Court for him
the post of AG absolutely pales in comparison to supreme court seats. I'd say keep your poweder dry. relatively speaking, gonzales is no big deal. and the president, i'll wager, knows it.
The betrayal of perceived friends hurts more deeply than the expected hostility of known enemies.
This is the note I sent to all of the Republicans on the judiciary committed:
If you permit Arlen Spectre to chair the judiciary committe,
I am one of MILLIONS of Christians who will take it as a betrayal of everything we thought we were working for when we supported your party.
I can assure you -- if that happens, MILLIONS of us will either sit out the next elections, or give our votes to third or fourth parties.
It's not the open virulence of Democrats that hurts the most, BUT SUAVE BETRAYAL BY PERCEIVED FRIENDS.
Spectre today = loss of presidency, house, and senate by 2008. I can promise you that.
In fact the congress has had the authority to ride herd over these traitorous judged all along. One can only conclude they tacitly approve of the courts direction, while they safely hide their true aspirations behind those awful court decisions. All the while wringing their hands in agony over those awful judges, claiming their hands are tied.
It will continue until we the people become informed of our true heritage, but that is not likely. Check out the History book in your local Middle School, or High School. George Washington rates a single paragraph, Maya Angelou rates 6 pages.

Here is some good reading...

No offense, but single issue voters do not impress me. Threats do not impress me either. The republican party is bigger than one issue. Most of us agree with you on the issue of abortion, but staying home on election day because you are not being pandered to sounds an awful lot like a liberal's frame of mind. It takes time to change laws in this country. You don't start an effective movement by threatening to desert the only allies you have. Just ask the gay marriage supporters.
This needs to be put on the desk of George Bush. Specter is his man, now let Bush take care of the loser.
Converting America to Islam will effectively solve the abortion issue, and as a side effect, it will also take care of the pesky homosexual agenda issue.
There are many important issues in our day and age, all intricately woven together.
The moral fabric of America is far more important an issue than abortion, with the proper morality in place, abortion would not be an issue.
Malachi 3:2
But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
Ooooooo....don't tell Howlin about this thread...!
I am VERY pro-life, but my reaction to a threat would be anger, and disgust at the lack of trust.
These public displays tend to do more damage than good and give our guys less room to manuver.
Cool your heels... all will be well.
There is a reason Frist, et al, are letting Specter twist in the wind like this.
Patience.
What we could do is return ever mailing from the RNC with no money. Politely tell them that we are not doing this because the administration and the Senate would not deny Specter the judiciary chairmanship, but we are merely short of funds this month. Pretty soon the bureaucrats at the RNC might "catch on."
Looks like they keep crawling out and finding new things to complain about.
Big-Time BUMP!
