Well dealing with bullies is a life skill you better acquire... because you won't have parents to defend you forever... As to drugs? Again, you better understand how to say no, because you'll have to deal with it in colleges. As to sexual activity? Well again, you better prepare them for the game, because if not they won't know how to deal with it! Especially in a society where you don't have early marriages!!!

You cannot protect children forever, because then you are setting them up for failure. It is difficult for a parent... In homeschooling you don't have to deal with in crowds, discrimination etc. etc... But you have to deal with it in life...

As far as the socializing, the "social part" of my middle school years amounted to total bullying and harrassment on the playground. I learned every curse word imagined. I learned how to smoke. I got groped on the school bus by horny middle school boys.

A little girl who was recently named student of the month or year was now suspended for doing cartwheels during school recess or whatever.

My 6-year-old daughter was doing cartwheels at a wake before I stopped her. Glad they didn't "suspend" her. 8-)

Because the vast majority of parents aren't qualified to teach to their children and schools teach other skills beside the academic ones... In most cases the "product" is a badly-educated person, without social skills... Not in all cases, but in the majority...

That's funny. Do you know any personally? All the ones I know are great, happy, well-adjusted kids.

As far as academics goes, homeschoolers constantly test in the 80th percentile.

But most importantly, homeschoolers are free to worship God as their parents see fit, which is the most important part of life and education.
