Someone posted a thread about Dan Rather but didn't have a good link.
I think this is the link to the video.
Rather gives an excellent tribute to the Smokin' soldier pic that has been circulating recently.
Video is worth watching.
I was surprised that he didn't start into a rant about how irresponsible it is to show front page photos of someone smoking.
Dan seemed to choke up there. Did someone give him patriotic pills?
Legacy (re-)building time for ol' Danny.
Do not fall for it folks! Rather is tanking and is will use anything to attempt to resurrect himself. Little late for him to be acting like he really give a rats ass about our soldiers.
bet he does cry while doing an Arafat tribute
Sooooo--is ole Dan sucking up to the patriotic among us or what?!
He just trying to mend for his recent screw ups. He can turn it on and off with the best of them. He's fake.
That was a nice tribute.
Rather's wasting his time. What he is has already been recorded.
Every school child in America should be shown the picture??? Alright, it's a nice picture, but Rather is still clearly losing it.
Dan get all patriotic again did he?? What a fraud.
maybe Dan had a crush on the soldier...
He is finally releasing some emotion from not being able to change the election.
Maybe there was some agenda, but I thought it was a nicely done tribute. In fairness, perhaps those of us (myself included) who make our outrage known to CBS when Rather is up to his old tricks might want to acknowledge this as well.
I did.
Nice tribute but what does Dan Rather know about "loyalty" to this country? He has on more than one occasion tried to bring down a President of this country.
Kudos to Dan, for whatever reason he did this, it was a GREAT TRIBUTE! While I have no doubt that he hates Republicans, Rather is originally a southerner, and I wouldn't be surprised if he truly felt this way about the American Soldier.
Nice job, buddy!
I didn't realize anybody actually still watched Dan!...
