Would FREEPERS contribute to a FOI suit to force the release of kerry's military records?

Didn't a newspaper sue to have President Bush's records released? Now it's our turn. Are we willing pay to get the entire Kerry military record released to the public?

Look into filing for the documents under FOIA (Freedom of Information Act). Doesn't matter if the person is running for office or a public person - anyone can file one of the on any other person in DOD. This is the only way to get his info without his permission.

Negative. Until Kerry signs a SF-180, a FOIA request will only garner limited information; what has already been vetted and released. You'd be better off looking for someone in St. Louis who will leak the remainder of his records. Both of you should have excellent counsel to represent you prior to said "disclosure".

not me. The libs going after bush over his military service was just childlish. I frankly didnt care whether or not he did or didn't serve, it's a non-issue to me, as i think it should have been with everybody. I know kerry's example is a bit different, but I think by us going after it, we'd be almost as petty and ridiculous as the dems

Your proposal is a fruitless effort without Mr. Kerry signing an SF 180 authorizing the release of all his records that are protected by the Privacy Act.

The Washington Post only got a few pages of Kerry's records on their FOIA.

I handle FOIA requests where I work, thus know the rule.

Is someone guilty of treason and/or dishonorably discharged from the armed forces allowed to serve in the Senate?

The people could sue President Bush because he had signed the 180 form, making the info in his records public info.

As long as sKerry refuses to sign the form there is nothing that can be done and they'll remain as "private info."

Guilty of treason? No. But there has been no conviction.

Dishonorably discharged? Repugnant, but yes.

We've had far worse serving in Congress. For example, Alcee Hastings was a federal judge impeached and removed from the bench for apparently taking a bribe (believe there was an FBI video of it). Hastings then was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives as a Dimwit.

Congressman Barney Frank's boyfriend was running a male prostitution ring from his house. He is considered Dimwit leadership and was planning to take Kerry's Senate seat if Kerry had won the presidency.

no good - Kerry won't sign the 180. The only reason AP was successful was because (a) Bush signed his 180 and (b) AP asked the court to have them to look through the records of OTHER PEOPLE to find any alternate references to Bush that wouldn't be found in his own records.

No basis for suit. Privacy Act protects the records. Kerry's consent is required.

I think the Swiftees would have to sue the Kerry campaign,or Nightline for slander and supeana the military records as part of the suit. Other than that, you can't get the records.

Even if they could get the docs in discovery, you can be sure that Kerry's attorneys would request that copies not be made, the docs only be reviewed, and a gag order imposed to prevent leaking the contents. Many know what are in the records. No one can speak for fear of getting nailed for violating the Privacy Act.

Good points and the suit would get the publics attention.

In addition the SWIFTIES could launch a national campaign to inform the American people that George Bush had nothing to hide and signed the Form 180, but John Kerry is keeping his Military Records secret for fear the American people couldn't handle the truth about his service.

Use the reporting for duty spot at the Demoratic National Convention to illistrate the scam Kerry was trying to pull.

I believe the most direct approach would be to keep repeating it as a fact.

It’s the DEMOCRAT method!

“Kerry got a dishonorable discharge and had all of his medals revoked.”

The only recourse foe him would be in suing and his records would have to be exposed.

It's a shame that you would have to use Stalin's method to validate a lie to tell the American people the truth today.

How about a bumper sticker. “Kerry got a dishonorable discharge and had all of his medals revoked.”
