While the Bracero program was in effect, workers came, worked, got paid, and went home.
We decided to stop the Bracero program, and the workers simply stopped one aspect of their routine...they stayed here out of fear of not being able to get back in if they went home.
What is he calling for?
As I understand it, a Mexican wanting to work in the US can presently wait 10 years for a non-existant green card or cross over illegally. Under a work program a Mexican wanting to wotk in the U.S. Would apply for and receive a work visa so that he could be investigated, tracked, and taxed while he is here and sent home when his work is done. Any Mexican found to be working here after such a "work visa" is implemented will be deported as an illegal.
I don't think you got the new talking point. Since President Bush was "selected" in 2000, he gets to run again.
Saw it here today, and I can't wait to run it past the first whiney-assed liberal who brings up Florida with me.
"Are you still claiming to know what most Americans want better than the President who just won more votes than Reagan?!"
70% to 80% wants corrective measures on our borders, not some amnesty plan. King Bush glosses over that fact.
BUSH II ... Pandering to Pedro
The Tancredo plan is no plan.
It fails to address those who are already here.
Kerry's amnesty was blanket amnesty for all illegals here now. THAT is more conservative?????????
Check this article by Phyllis Schlafly
Not even a bleep in the radar these past elections.
What do you think of Tom Tancredo's guest worker plan?
"Kool Aid." = Democrat Party
Party Punch = Republican Party
No kidding. 70% to 80% also know that Bush is pushing a plea bargain, not an amnesty.
"I thought Bush heard us loudly earlier in the year and that he'd dropped this stupid and very unpopular plan."
Read the tagline
Don't despair, I'm sure they're sanitizing old Jebber for his turn on the throne....gotta give Hillary some competition don't they?
Not necessarily. One part of the plan is for them to go back to Mexico and apply from there.
Well......
We've come to the conclusion, what the majority of American's want no longer matters. You and I will be forced at the point of a gun to pay for this madness, and your kids will live in a freakish, balkanized country where the terms, borders and sovereignty are just quaint old words...
Watch them go after AZ prop 200 go the same way as CA prop 187. Their plans and agendas cannont be any clearer.

I worked hard for the president too and I am still thrilled that he won.
Bush never gave any indication that he wouldn't continue to pursue his guestworker plan. You just didn't pay attention. And now you have buyer's remorse.
We all knew that we had a choice between a Bush guestworker plan and Kerry's choice of open borders. Next time pay attention.
For most of us this was NOT the defining issue of the election. If it was for you then maybe you should have supported Kerry because he was your ONLY other choice.
I'm really tired of the whining. Anyone with an ear and an eye knew what we were getting on this issue with a Bush vote.
It's time to quit whining and do what we can to toughen the proposal through Congress.
"Where did Bush "Call For Illegal Alien Amnesty"? He didn't. "
EXACTLY ! ... and where is this "latest Bush Announcement" ?
...all I see is a quote from the president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform - these guys are as bad as the nuts on AirAmerika
