She was a putz as the candidate's wife, and seemed to have no good intentions for this nation. But cancer is something else. And it's a personal tragedy for the Edwards family. And I think all agree that we might pray for the Edwards family in their grief, not over losing the election which is our cause for celebration, but in the face of this genuinely bad news.

Your #49 is sinful. ....as is yours. I stated in #169 the meaning of my statement. I will defend it one last time.

There was no attacking her on my part it was a saying I was taught from early childhood by my mother. It was a way of teaching me there are consequences for actions.

How do you find it more offensive than what most said here on FR the day Mrs. Edwards statement was posted.

I will give you a few examples from just one thread:

oink, oink: fatty gomp: she is simply white trash: shut the fat oinker up: mrs. toad: fat burger: hey liz project much: get her a dough nut and shut her up: sow should stay in a sty: fat gloating ignorant pig.

Now where were all you when these words were spewed??????

I did not attack her, merely stated a belief of my own.

Further more, I find it insulting that some senior people here find it easy to slam, attack and run. I have seen you both do it often. You were directed to the post where I explained my posting yet you move on as if your insult to me is a right of the FR elite???????????????

Sometimes it is better to keep silent and let people wonder than to open your mouth and prove you are a fool.

Don't care what your mother taught you and you have the right to say whatever you please.........I DISAGREE WITH YOU

And that is my right too.

If you can't see the difference in politics and a possible deadly disease, perhaps you have signed up on the wrong forum.

Speaking for myself and OldFriend, you've never seen either one of US do that; I stand by my posts and so does OF.

yet you move on as if your insult to me is a right of the FR elite???????????????

Grow up. You made a crappy statement and now your only defense if attacking others.

I hope Elizabeth Edwards will beat this disease. If she has a radical mastectomy, followed by chemo and radiation, she has a good chance for a ten-year survival.

By then, her two little ones will be teenagers.

Good luck, Mrs. Edwards.

Hadn't thought of that. That's tough. Prayers for her and for the family. Cancer is a disease that isn't limited to the patient, it effects the entire family in a huge way. God bless them and give them peace.

This would be a great time for a little "group sing".
I'll start you all join in:

Kum - ba- yah my Lord
Kum - ba- yah..

Kum - ba- yah my Lord.....

Love to you all and I have enjoyed reading everyone's (everyone's!) comments! Prayers to the Edwards family.. this would be most of ours worse nightmare.

My mom dealt with cancer when I was a teenager. My mom is a cancer survivor, so I know that the battle can be won, no matter how stressful the fight will be.

Prayers for Mrs. Edwards. I wish her a full recovery.

Payers for her complete recovery.

Political disagreements pale when considering health and one can only one's opponents the same good health and long life one wishes ones friends and family.

Since Mrs. Edwards may be post-menopausal, perhaps this isn't the aggressive cancer. It's scary that she found it herself instead of via mammogram. That's means it isn't tiny.

Poor woman. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Hope she makes a full recovery.

It's ironic that the millions her husband bilked out of doctors in trivial malpractice suits will buy her the best of health care.

God always makes the playing field even, in our lives. What doctor will be willing to operate and treat her without a comprehensive release?

Her husband seems so disconnected (gay) whenever I’ve seen them together. This whole the “love of my life crap” is bunk.

My prayers go out to her children. As they were not involved in their parents resolve to rape the healing hands which are now expected to cure them.
