Watch what happens in the next census. Red states will pick up more electoral votes ie which means more house members and what could be a strangle hold on the legislative and executive branches. Have judges appointed that take the Constitution literally and not legislate from the bench and who knows how much can be accomplished. We'll know if the left learned anything in the 109th by democrat leadership changes. Any bets the answer will be nothing?
It seems that Kerry did not win any county in Nebraska or Oklahoma--completely red. In all other states, Kerry did win some.

If blue represented the USA water supply (lakes, river, etc.) - we'd have a serious thirst problem in the wheat belt.
For the first time since 1988, I think, at least one county in CT went red. Litchfield County, in the northwest. It's a little more conservative there. Used to be that Fairfield County, bordering NY, was considered GOP territory mostly because it was the wealthiest part of the state. Too many "moderates" though reject what they consider to be extremism by social conservatives, so many of them vote Dem now.
Clearly, the Dems' strength comes from the hell-holes of American society -- large urban areas; places wracked by poverty, crime, illiteracy, illegitimacy, hopelessness, secularism. This election solidified the divide in this election -- it isn't "conservative vs. liberal," or "Republican vs. Democrat;" it's "happy and productive Americans vs. the socially pathological."

Wow! Thanks. Saving this. Amazing to see how the Dems message of hate (hate Bush, hate those who disagree instead of outlining beliefs) failed to impress and even turned people off, and how Bush's message of compassion and common sense prevailed. People are getting it.
"Liberalism" isn't a political ideology, but is simply a nihilistic worldview.
Up until this time, the 'incumbent' was blue, and the newbie was red. There was another thread where the map was reversed.
I would assume their places that haven't finished counting their votes. I notice Cook Co., Ill., is a gray mass.
Each island is a county.
There are several counties in Hawaii. Kauai, Honolulu, Kalawao, Maui and Hawaii counties, one of them stretches out over several thousand square miles of ocean.

You conservative city dwellers all over the US owe a huge debt of gratitude to your country cousins who delivered the vote for President Bush in many states. You owe them BIG TIME!
My daughter told me that her fifth grader helped organize a kid vote at her school - 348 to 43 (about) for W. Her third-grader found out her best friend voted forsKerry (her father is a lawyer). Christy wanted to know if that meant her friend would not go to heaven. My daughter assured her that my best friend was a dim, so it was ok to have friends who were different.
