The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

"where would it be placed into the system?"

At the ATM machine.

That implies you have sufficient people in positions to get the cash into the machines - security-type jobs - and in multiple locations. Lithuanian job was a $100 bill, and ATMs dispense 20s. Not shooting it down completely, just testing it to the limit.

A few weeks ago I mentioned that retail chains up and down the east coast had just started using UV gadgets to identify counterfeit moola at their registers...connect the radioactive dots.

Not sure I get the connection between the UV gadgets and radioactive counerfeits.

Unfortunately, SweetIslam2 is a members only locked site. The address is listed inside Oorang's post 2320.

I found the sweet islam 2 site the other night, but, it is blocked. Members only and not accepting new members was how I understood it. I'm not going to sign up and try to see if I can get in there. I've had one laptop die on me this year. Don't want to potentially lose another. If you like I can try and find SI2 again and send you the link. It is on the same msn website. I won't be able to look until tomorrow night though. Have to get up early, quarterly trip to the "big city" to stock up.

You'll get there. As you said, this is only your third semester. I admire your tenacity.

Be careful tomorrow, if you're going to the "big city". Keep an eye out for the bad guys.

That's ok, thanks though. I figured it was locked.

That seems to be one of the plausable explanations. That and the "green" as in "inexperienced".

Why would chains all of a sudden invest a good chunk of money into UV detection gadgets? Homeland security could have prompted this action. The chains have cheaper ways of detection but this new gadget is for every bill, every denomination...it has to mean a major influx of bogus bills of all denominations (not just $100.) The holiday season is the best time for this sort of hijinks.

The radiation or bio vector is just more icing on the cake...take out the economy and the people, 2 birds with one stone.

Doing a little reading tonight and not seeing any way bio-warfare can be stopped short of capturing those causing it. A little could go a very long way and spread substantially geographically before detection.

SNIP: Bio-terroristic attack: The Nightmare Scenarios

The attraction of bio-weapons for use in terrorist attacks is attributed to their low production costs, the easy access to a wide range of disease-producing biological agents, their non-detection by routine security systems, and their easy transportation from one location to another.

Popular scenarios of bio-terrorism, that may have some mythical origins and cinematic Hollywood links, include the use of psychotic substances to contaminate food; the use of toxins and poisons in political assassinations; raids with crude biological cloud bombs; use of dried viral preparations in spray powders; and low-flying cruise missiles adding destruction and havoc with genetically-engineered micro-organisms. Other aspects of bio-terrorism are to dispute agriculture, decimate livestock, contaminate the environment, and seed food insecurity through intentional food poisoning and food infection.

For terrorist purposes, a sophisticated delivery system may not be required. Biological agents can be disseminated by crosswinds with few, if any, indications of hostile intent. Commercially available equipment, such as agricultural sprayers, can be used to attack broad target areas. A single aircraft, for example, can disseminate a line of source agent approximately 200 kilometers long to infect an area of some 200 square kilometers downwind. A vehicle driven across the wind could be used to disperse agents in a similar manner over a proportionately smaller area. After the terrorist attacks in New York recently, all crop dusters in America were grounded.

Thanks. What bothers me is not only what's on the links, but that they were all at the sweetislam site. I don't have a good feeling about that crowd.

I don't mean just ATMs..but I do mean at the most basic point of distribution when possible. ATMs are in the stores now...it would be spread on Main Street. Also it could easily be spread in the illegal drug trade and in the Salvation Army kettles.
