DENVER (AP) — The FBI is investigating the reported thefts of scores of propane cylinders in the Denver area — a crime spree that has raised fears of a terrorist attack.

About 100 cylinders, each containing about 7.8 gallons of the highly flammable gas and weighing about 33 pounds, have been stolen from various businesses since July, FBI agent Monique Kelso said Monday.

The investigation was first reported by KMGH-TV in Denver.

"The potential threat is that these propane tanks get into the wrong hands ... and get into the hands of those that are willing to commit a crime on the magnitude of the Oklahoma City bombing or another terrorist attack," Kelso told the station.

She said Monday the tanks might also have been taken to power equipment such as farm machinery. The tanks are larger than those used for barbecue grills.

Twenty-eight propane cylinders have been stolen from Dal-Tile Corp. of Denver, including 10 in the past six months, said Randy Warren, operations manager at the ceramic tile manufacturer.

"Why are they so adamant in cutting a lock, cutting chains, trying to rip the doors off or whatever it is to get to these?" he asked.

Bell that doesn't have to be part of a plane, why not part of a missile?

The amount of damage done the the pentagon is far more severe than an F-16 mounted air-to-air missile could ever produce. Airforce missiles do not have the fancy paint job shown in the photo, nor the thin, aluminum skin present in the photo. The missile story is bogus, internet rumor, urban legend, et al.

Also important to remember: The Pentagon is a militarty HQ, hardened against attack, so it would probably have disintegrated many of the lighter parts of an aircraft, and the only penetration it would suffere would be from the densest pieces, notably the cabin floor and cockpit hardware, which is just smaller than the hole in the pentagon itself.

Note also, when you have something hit at that speed, it's going to punch, not splatter. The fire on the outside of the building is consistent with the postiiong of the fuel tanks in the airliner's wings, but not with the explosion of a missile, which would have penetrated the building and then exploded inside.

Be aware, I also believe that men landed on the moon, and that the face on mars is a trick of light and shadow.

Also, if you view the video on this page by CNN, there is clearly no missile entering the building from the sky.

If you review the tape w/ audio and pay attention, the plane is visible flying a few feet off the ground (a plane as described by witnesses) and not a missile! You can see is as a blur just as the first frame with the explosion is occurring. It is rumors like this that do a disservice to the families of those who were aboard that aircraft.

When it was posted the other day that the victim's families were not allowed to talk about it, I almost fell out of my chair. I kept quit though. Today, however, with the huge 8x10 glossy of the airliner on my screen, I just couldn't help but say something.

Anyways, I am back into search the internet mode.
