"The war was based on two lies," said Hawking. "The first was we were in danger of weapons of mass destruction and the second was that Iraq was somehow to blame for Sept. 11.

Wrong, it was based on U.N. Resolution #1441.

Garbage in, garbage out ... doesnt compute...

There was neve any serious allegation about Saddam and 9/11, nor was that listed in the Iraq war resolution ...

what WAS mentioned was that Saddam was for 20 years a state sponsor of terrorism.

Since this is the WAR ON TERRORISM and not the WAR ON THE 9/11 PERPS, this fact is somewhat relevant.

Someone needs to take the batteries out of Hawking's voice synthesizer.

Scientist Stephen Hawking Decries Iraq War . . . well it's a good thing he isn't fighting it then.

an anti-war demonstration in London's Trafalgar Square

Does this qualify as ironic?

The physicist spoke at an anti-war demonstration in London's Trafalgar Square timed to coincide with the U.S. election.

Doesn't Hawking require an "interpreter", i.e. a human companion, to interpret his utterings into English?

Britain's most famous scientist, Stephen Hawking, condemned the U.S. led invasion of Iraq as a "war crime"

Mr. Genius, I lost my brother in the Trade center...wheel chair or not I'd love to tell you about fu##in' war crimes...my sister-in-law and kids deal with it EVERY DAY--EVERY DAY.

In "The Road to Serfdom", Hayek mentions that one of the saddest aspects of the Third Reich was the way the scientists lined up behind Hitler. I guess they felt that his ideas for a scientifically planned society sounded, well, scientific.

That statement itself contains 2 lies.

I don't believe that this story is true.
