Voter fraud is akin to treason, to my mind. If we made it a capital offense, we'd have less of it. Especially if we brought back public hanging to deal with those convicted of it.
I think Andrew Card did come out and say they are confident of the victory.
They are just giving the dems a little time to realize they can not win. They do things like this because they are a class act. Plus, the longer the dems wait to concede, the more they expose themselves as being thugs who think they are entitled to the presidency. They are very bad losers who care more about their power than the good of the nation.
The more time you give the dems, the worse they look.
I agree, with the voter fraud statement. Which makes me wonder why the Kerry would push a recount in OH, most of the provisionals were obtained illegally, IMHO..
I think we neew a new live thread this morning this one is really slow.
I don't think he will push for one, for exactly that reason. They'll need to be able to do this again. So Kerry will be told to concede.
The Massachusetts Supreme Court in large part cost sKerry the election. If they had not ordered the State to allow gay marriages, it is possible that in never would have become the major issue it did. I think having that issue on the ballot in so many states made all the difference.
Oh, yeah. The 'Pubbies will give Kerry all the time he wants to twist in the wind. With every minute that passes, his political grave get's dug an inch deeper. But the President is more than happy to let him wait. Never get in your enemy's way when he is intent on destroying himself, after all...
Nixon may have been a lot of things, but he was honorable. He conceded to Kennedy in 1960 and he resigned from office during Watergate. He loved this country more than he loved himself.
The days of honorable behavior in politics is over for both political parties, though for different reasons. It's over for Dems because they no longer know its definition. Their party has been hijacked by the radical peace-niks from the 1960s whose entire outlook on life is socialistic in nature. It's perfectly acceptable to divide the nation during a war, or if that doesn't work, conduct massive voter fraud. After all, the ends justify the means, right? Democrats who are of the WWII generation -- people who recognize honor and sacrifice for country -- no longer represent nor recognize the Democratic party.
But for Republicans, the end of honorable behavior is being forced upon them. They are no longer afforded the luxury of displaying honorable behavior, particularly to their defeated opponents, without being taken advantage of. If Bush waits longer than today to publicly declare victory and tell the country to unite and move on, the Dems will interpret that as weakness and be more determined than ever to drag this out for weeks or even months.
I disagree with your assessment. I think that the longer the Dems can keep this in fron of the media, the more the public will believe their cause, even if they aren't going to win. They will use 2004 as a battle cry in 2008 just like they did with the 2000 election. This needs to be nipped in the bud immediately.
Right now it's 51/49 Kerry - with a 120,000 vote spread. Probably the same situation as Ohio, not enough absentees, etc to overcome that gap.
But if Kerry contests Ohio, Bush can contest PA on the same criteria.
Heck, Pennsylvania is closer than Ohio, and Kerry only leads Wisconsin by 13,000 votes.
Kerry, please concede so I can get some rest...
Yeah, but Republicans have class. Kerry's just crass. Wrong candidate. Wrong place. Wrong election. John Effin Kerry, you are the weakest link, goodbye. Now go try to actually show up for your day job.
Great for starters, but he didn't do it alone!
