Just worked the polls about 8 hours here in northeast san antonio and I can say turnout was huge here, like 600 people came in from our precincts covering four neighborhoods in the time I was there. This on top of early voting numbers nearly matching 2000's numbers and this means Bush is gonna win the popular vote too.

Kept my promise. Voted for Bush/Cheney. No problems at the polling place. Had a little bit of a line, but not too bad. No sign of media, Move-on, or anything.

Cue Officer Barbrady.

Some Chet Edwards signs with no mention of K/E.

If one relied on ol' Chet's advertising (which is omnipresent), one would never know he was a Democrat -- 'til you got in the voting booth and looked at the ballot.

Wolgemuth will get good support out of Hood County, but I fear she will run behind the President here. In my view, she just didn't spend sufficiently to get the name recognition that would make her appear a credible candidate. That even goes back to the primary, when she was invisible until the last week.

Observations of a retired ad guy...

Had a lady in front of me that had no registration, her name wasn't on the list, and her ID was a California drivers license.

Was she also transparent and have the smell of moist graveyard dirt? Most importantly, was she allowed to vote?

I made the mistake of wearing sandals - Iguess it's time to pull out closed toe shoes finally.

I wouldn't. If ya don't like the weather, wait and it'll change. Next week it'll be back to 90 again. I wear shorts and sandals year round. Wore flip flops today and sloshed through the cold puddles.

Please don't insult red headed step children by associating them with UT and Hippy Hollow-ites.

Worse. A libertarian that voted for the GOP candidate for President. Boortz isn't the only one of us with our head wired right on the War on Terror.

I just returned from voting in Precinct 614 which is the 1960/veterans memorial area. I was a bit miffed at Mr. Delay, he got me redistricted right into Sheila Jackson Lee's district and there is no Republican running against her. I did manage to vote for an Independent though as there was no way I wanted any part of accepting this. I had no lines to deal with but learned that it took 3 hours for them to clear the lines from this morning and voting has been steady ever since. We have about 3 Kerry signs in yards here, or did as of Halloween. Some goblins took care of those for us on Sunday eve.

My experience...

Got up early this a.m. to go vote, was at the school at 6:45!! Line was already forming but I was about number 20 in line. By the time 7:00 rolled around the line was a mile long!!

So... when I get up there I hand them my license and naturally my name is not on the list.

IMAGINE THAT!!!

I told them I had changed my address 4 months ago but never got my voter registration. When I told them I did it online they told me that they were still trying to work the "kinks" out of that. OH REALLY!!! I said "So...your telling me that the online registration or address change doesn't work?" They flat out told me that's right!! Can you beleive that shit?

She told me I could vote in my OLD precinct. I told her I was NOT going to drive all the way to north Austin (about 40 miles) when it was THEIR mistake. She made a phone call, and I was the first person in that precinct to have to fill out a provisional vote. They didn't even know the correct procedure!!!

THESE PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS!!!

At least I got to vote AGAINST the democRATS!! STRAIGHT UP REPUBLICAN I WAS SO MAD!!

Voted early last Thursday at my usual polling place, the Williamson County Courthouse. I was surprised to see that there were more Libertarian candidates than Democrats. If I remember correctly, at one time recently (if not still true today) there were no Dem elected officeholders in the county.

So, we're not too worried about the Texas' electorial votes, but as we learned in 2000, every vote counts when they start screaming about popular vote versus electoral.

I'm in Amarillo and it has been snowing since yesterday. They called school at 1PM and have had several bad accidents. In Randall Country, early voting had 42% of the electorate voting. Even with the snow this will be a record turnout. We have 14 people waiting at Republican Headquarters to drive people to the polls. I've never seen such a turnout of volunteers in all my years of working for the Repbulican Party. I have a friend who is in Hospice and he made sure he voted. This is such an important election. Everyone knows it. Am glad Naugherbauer is ahead in Lubbock. I've been praying for him to win. Up here Seliger will win. There have been some Kerry signs up here. More than I've seen in the past. I'm praying the bad weather will keep the Dems home. Pray that Bush wins.

She probably voted a provisional ballot which won't be counted. If she isn't on the voter list and has no ID from Texas, they won't stop her from voting, but it'll be provisional and if she hasn't registered it won't count.
