I used to be in Stenholm's district when we lived NW of FTW. Now live in LBB and voted early at the Mall Saturday before last a straight Republican ticket. Old Charlie has been in Congress for over twenty years but I think he is about to retire. He will have to change to the Republican Party to get elected (if ever) again. I like Naugebauer's conservative politics...

The last day of early voting here in Houston was last Friday, the 29th. I didn't want to be stuck in a long line today, knowing the long-term forcast was for rain, so I showed up at my polling place Friday. Man-o-man was it crowded. Several hundred people in line, and the line was moving along pretty quickly. Our wait time was a tad over a half-hour. Not bad.

I suspect a lot of the voters in line did as my wife and I did. Using one of the new computerized voting machines, we clicked on the straight-ticket button (Republican, of course), which left only three propositions that we had to decide on (NO on 1, Yes on 2 and 3 :). So, we were in and out of our booths in less than five minutes.

If you haven't voted yet, better get out there. The lines most likely will move faster than you might think.

"Cold and rainy here in Dallas"

You gotta let folks know though, that "cold" here means "high 50's"!

North Padre Island (Corpus Christi area) about 9:00 this morning. Upbeat, happy, smiling folks!

Rainy, windy and a little cooler.

It feels GREAT today!

Cedar Park (in Williamson County, as red as it gets). Light rain and a bit cold, for here.

My wife and I voted about 10AM. Parking lot full, inside it was busy but not really much of a line. Poll workers said turnout had been very good.

I really wanted to vote this year on Election Day rather than early voting, and I'm glad I waited. I guess I often take for granted the privilege of voting, but as I filled out my ballot I actually got a little choked up. I guess it was a combination of pride in this great land, appreciation for the sacrifice that makes it possible, and a solemn realization of the significance of this election.

GO W !!!!!

Any commentary on Frost and how he is doing? I'm hoping he loses big.

Arelene Wolgemuth was on the stage at SMU last night with the President and he called her by name. I was in the seventeenth district yesterday. Lots of B/C signs with her name below. Some Chet Edwards signs with no mention of K/E.

The county I'm in [in the heart of Texas conservative country] had 1/3 of the registered voters show up for early voting. They're expecting at least that many to show up today-- a record, all told. Bush will win big here just as he did in 2000.

Very rainy and wet in SE Texas. Luckily we all voted (Republican family) 2 weeks ago.

Voted around 10:30 this morning in a suburb of Dallas - no line at all. I hope that means that people are voting after work or voted early. One of the guys working there was an idiot and loud on top of it - but all in all it went smooth. Some guy standing outside handing out Democrat literature. I took it just so he'd have one less to give out to someone else. I noticed others just sticking it in their pocket and walking on. This is solid Bush country here.

Went to the polls in West Houston at 7:00am - the whole process took about 30 minutes. The line was longer when we left. I was so excited and had my "W 2004" cap on.

Most of the signs in our neighborhood are Bush/Cheney, but there have been 3 "Vote Bush Out" signs in 3 yards around here for about 2 months. I am so sick of looking at them, and pray tomorrow morning they will be gone for good!

My very Republican area of Northwest Corpus Christi had 390 voters by 9AM when I voted. There are Bush signs all over the neighborhoods and Bush Bumpers stickers on cars. And consdiering this a traditional Rat hole you hardly see any Kerry stickers or signs around the whole city. Bush did carry this county last election as well as his 1994 and 1998 runs for Gov.
