Put info and links about New York here.
Thanks, will do.
Oh boy, just went to the site. It has one member: Nasir Muhammad. His picture is posted on the site. Think I'll wait this one out.
I voted for GWB in Queens today too....and though there were a few people at every voting booth, there were really no lines. I voted around 9:30AM, later around 1PM our second born son voted and around 2:30PM our firstborn son voted. There was no wait for either of them.
I also found the poll workers were no where as nice or helpful as the poll workers I usually encounter. They weren't rude, they just weren't forthcoming in helping or providing info. When I saw two booths with my election district on them but neither with my assembly district correctly listed and I asked which I should use they just waved me towards the two instead of stepping up and guiding me more distinctly. I had to ask 3 times before a man sitting closer to the booth actually got out of his chair, reached for my card and waved me in.
Spoke with a friend who voted in Bayside, Queens today. The voting machines were not functioning so she had to fill out a provisional ballot.
From your lips to God's ears. Literally. I figure if NJ can lean more right than anyone expected, why is NY always written off?
What did you guys do??
I voted for O'Grady too as did my son who is a stanch republican working for a dem in the field of politics. Schummer is going to win no matter what so voting for the republican (and I say that loosely) wouldn't change the outcome either. At least we are making a statement with our votes.
Especially since NY was so directly affected by 9/11/01!! I couldn't imagine choosing anyone but President Bush after living through that hell!
Glad you were all out there voting for President Bush. I voted this morning in Suffolk County at 6:15, proudly voted for President Bush. No lines, in and out.
Welcome to Free Republic.
4 More Years!
Our family voted in Upstate NY at 5:30 PM. We are in a rural district with only about 1000 RVs. We were 511 and 512 and it felt great to thrust the lever for FREEDOM AND LIBERTY --- W OF COURSE! Our pre-teen daughter got a real civics lesson. We are relaxed in prayer for W. We believe NY can go for W.
Nancy Naples 51% 48% Higgins.
Total NYS votes for W. - @2.8 million. This is more than any Southern state except for Texas.
Florida produced more votes for W than New York. That's two southern states.
The voting blocks in half of Florida are as southern as you are.
The Republican base in Florida is as follows: 1. Transplanted midwesterners on the west coast, from Naples up to New Port Richey, 2. the "Florida Crackers" in North Florida and 3. the Cubans in Miami-Dade County.
As I said, Florida is as southern as you are.
