There are many Governors' races at stake. While they have been overshadowed by Federal races, they're still important.
DELAWARE: Governor Ruth Anne Minner has been hit with criticism and negative press over her handling of various state scandals. She even dismissed news of the rape of a prison guard by an inmate. Now, ex-judge William Lee could pull off the upset of the year.
INDIANA: Ex-White House aide Mitch Daniels has run one of the most skillful campaigns this year. and is benefitting from the state's Republican tendencies and desire for change. Governor Joe Kearnan was considered the ideal candidate when he ascended to office. But Daniels is slightly favored to unseat him.
MISSOURI: Governor Bob Holden is among the most unpopular Govs. in the nation, and the G.O.P. Secretary of State Matt Blunt looked forward to Holden dragging his party down with him. But when state Auditor Clare McCaskill beat Blunt to the punch, it was thought to be a tossup. But Blunt has taken a slim but steady lead, which should hold on election day.
MONTANA: It was no surprise when Governor Judy Martz, who makes Holden look like Mr. Popularity, didn't seek another term. The race between Secretary of State Bob Brown and farmer Brian Schweitzer has been negative, with Brown being tied to Martz and Schweiter's business practices being attacked. It's also too close to call, but Bush's big lead in Montana will help Brown.
NEW HAMPSHIRE: Governor Craig Benson was initially considered the favorite. But he finds himself in a surprisingly close race with businessman John Lynch.
NORTH CAROLINA: Governor Mike Easly remains the favorite despite his mediocre record. State Senator Patrick Ballentine has run a game race, but is hobbed by his lack of name I.D.
NORTH DAKOTA: Governor John Hoeven is heavily favored against ex-state Senator Joe Satron. He should win a runaway victory.
UTAH: This should have been a cakewalk for the G.O.P. John Huntsman, Jr. is the scion of a prominent billionaire family. But the Democrats have an even more prominent family name, Scott Matheson, Jr., whose father was a beloved, moderate Governor in the 1970's. Huntsman remains the marginal favorite.
VERMONT: RINO Governor Jim Douglas faces a credible challenge in leftist Burlington Mayor Peter Clavelle, who has tried to make the Iraq war an issue. But Iraq has nothing to do with the governorship, and voters seem satisfied with Douglas.
WASHINGTON: State Attorney General Christine Gregoire and state Senator Dino Rossi are in a close race to win this open race. Rossi has run a good campaign and is helped by Gov. Gary Locke's unpopularity, but Gregoire remains the slight favorite.
WEST VIRGINIA: Scandal-plagued Governor Bob Wise is stepping down in disgrace. Secretary of State John Manchin is the solid favorite over developer Monty Warner.

The only problem here in DE is that a third party candidate, who received the joint nomination of the Libertarian AND Constitution parties is going to pull enough votes to keep Minner in office.
Her comment regarding the abduction and rape of a female prison conselor was "in a prison, you almost expect these things to happen."
First my home state gave the nation Biden, now they're going to re-elect Minner. My apologies to all...
Joe Manchin will definitely win the race for West Virginia's Governor.
On one hand, I'm glad because he's a VERY solid pro-lifer so, in that respect, he's 100 times better than Bob Wise in my book. But then the other candidate, Monty Warner, is a good pro-lifer too. Either way, WV's unborn will win tomorrow. Hopefully Manchin will dismantle all the anti-life legislation that Bob Wise (a misnomer if I ever saw one) signed into law.
On the other hand, he wants to expand gambling in WV, which is just what we need: something to make the crime rate skyrocket and the people of this state even poorer. Plus he's your typical idiot pro-union Democrat that will continue to scare corporations from coming within a 100 mile radius of WV. *sigh*

I am doing the same thing, come 6 a.m. and one more straight republican ticket will be cast in Indiana, I can't wait.
My predictions:
DELAWARE: Ruth Anne Minner wins re-election.
INDIANA: Mitch Daniels wins 54-45.
MISSOURI: Matt Blunt wins 52-47
MONTANA: Brian Schweitzer wins 56-42
NEW HAMPSHIRE: John Lynch wins 52-45.
NORTH CAROLINA: Mike Easley wins 53-47.
NORTH DAKOTA: John Hoeven wins 64-35.
UTAH: John Huntsman, Jr. wins 54-45.
VERMONT: Jim Douglas wins 49-47.
WASHINGTON: Christine Gregoire wins 51-48.
WEST VIRGINIA: John Manchin wins 64-33.
If 1. Bush is seen as the winner early and/or 2. the lousy weather continues in Seattle, Rossi will get by Gregoire.
I'd also like for us to get rid of that idiot judge and his eunuch (I forget their names) who have sued companies to the point where hardly anybody can do business here.

I agree. I SO wish Pat "Leaky" Leahy had a credible opponent. State House Speaker Walter Freed would have been a good choice, but he backed down. : (

There is a lot of buzz about Rossi upsetting Gregoir around here. Apparently some poll had Rossi up +6. It's certainly not impossible, but I'll believe it when I see it.
