Hi folks, I thought it would be a good idea to have a live Rush thread on the eve of the election. :)
On a related note.... I don't think it's going to be as close as we all think. Why?
Bush is polling much better with women than he did in 2000, and has doubled his poll numbers with Blacks. That's a lot of votes, folks.
Have faith , folks. We'll be fine. :)
Agree.......rush is a fair measurement of the situation based on his insider position IMO. If he doesn't know whats gonna happen then MSM and polls aside ..........this is gonna really be a squeaker .........
What I remember about 4 years ago is that Rush was on Buchanan's payroll with ads saying not to vote for GW.
This is somewhat along the lines of what I was thinking. This is the first presidential election since 09/11. National security and keeping the country safe are on many people's minds as some of the most important issues.
I do believe there is, like it or not, a large group of people who think in terms of "can I keep my job?", "how much will healthcare cost?", "will Social Security be there for me?". It may not be the way you and I think, but in many ways, some people prioritize in those terms.
I believe there is a significant group of people who really minimize the threat from radial Islam. They believe the attacks on 09/11 were an abberation. They justify this by stating that there have been no attacks since 09/11, for whatever the reason. Still others believe that if we try to negotiate with the terrorists, that the U.S. can minimize its' risk of being hit again.
The key to this election really hinges on turnout and how believable each candidate seems. Yes, there is a well-motivated ABB crowd that would vote for a tin-can, if it was running against GWB. I believe the majority of people *believe* GWB, and do not believe JFK. Ultimately, for most folks, the election really does boil down to a set of core issues, with not a lot of "nuance".
I believe GWB will win, and that we will know the results within 24-48 hours at the latest.
Rush needs to keep reminding listeners that Kerry trashed the military in 1971, has been trashing the military while a senator, and is trashing the miltary now in this campaign.
Skip the details. Just repeat that Kerry is trashing the military. Thats all. No long winded explanations. Just repeat that Kerry's trashing the military. Like Reagan did to Carter. "There you go again" works for me. "You can run, but you cant hide" works too.
AMEN AND AMEN. I have been praying and fasting and I am comforted to KNOW THAT OUR GOD IS IN CONTROL.....
Why do you think they are slowly learning? If they were slowly learning would this race be this close? I admire your optimism but we better be prepared for tomorrow. Anything but a clear Bush win will be stolen by the dems thru voter fraud. Also, I'll go on record here and now stating that no way does Bush get anywhere near twice the black vote he got last time. The black vote will always go to the democrat and I think Kerry will get at least 90%, if not more.
You really see a Bush "landslide" victory? I would love that to be true! Why do you think it's going to be a landslide victory rather than a close victory?
It is positively uncanny how much OBL echos Kerry's campaign speeches.
Gore and Bush were not running in 2002.
Just anecdotal evidence really. I talked to my buddy Saturday morning, and we were talking about Kerry. My buddy is a huge Republican, but he stays busy constantly. He just doesn't keep up with politics. I mentioned to him all the anti-war stuff Kerry did in 1971, and my buddy had never even heard of that stuff.
He's not dumb by any means, he's just a busy business-owner and doesnt keep up with politics. I think most Americans are like that. Just like Rush says all the time, America isn't a liberal country. It's just that most folks don't realize fully yet what kind of party the Democrats are. But they will, in time. :)
Jeb Bush is going to be calling in shortly, if anyone missed that.
Well, keep the faith and vote early and vote often in as many states as possible.
Seriously, don't forget the Amish in PA. 40,000 possible. If they don't vote the way their Elders say, they'll get their beepers shunned.
Jeb Bush on now.......talking about get out the vote effort..........
"Wonder if threads are archived back that far, what happened was beyond belief, we were picking up seats in the Senate and House."
