Interestingly, the partisanship has changed, but the ideology really has not.

Mass. and Ill. used to be Republican when Republicans were the more liberal. MN used to be really Democratic when Democrats were more conservative.

As the roles of the parties switched, so did the partisan allegiances of states. Witness the turnaround of the Solid South, for example.

I think, as the Democratic party moves further and further left, we'll see some moderate-conservative states, like Minnesota and the Rust Belt states, moving into the Republican camp...

About the wrong track numbers, if Bush wins with a comfortable lead or better, I'll be willing to say the country is on the right track; at least temporarily. LOL

GUYS, IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE "CURRENT RELEVANCE" OF THESE POLLS THEN 'POP-UP' THE FOLLOWING LINK AT REALCLEARPOLITICS.COM:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/bush_vs_kerry_sbys.html

The Mason-Dixon polls for Florida, Ohio (this is the "Plain Dealer" entry), Iowa, Colorado, West Virginia, and Arkansas are all listed and dated, with some dates different than others.

"PA is 48%-46% for Kerry, as it has been all campaign long"

I don't understand why. Went down with an NYC group today to Philly and knocked on doors all day long. Many Kerry supporters and lots of Bush supporters. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to their choices. One guy who said he was undecided ( but I believe was for Kerry) told me that the President "knew about the September 11 attacks the day before, because they had a fire drill in the World Trade Center." How can you argue with idiocy like that ? And this guy said he was a teacher ! I'm not feeling that we can win Pennsylvania with the blind Democrats in Philly.

This is NOT old polling data. There's a paragraph at the end that evidently got left from the previous poll.

1) The article is posted tonight, 8pm Eastern.
2) It says in two places it was taken Oct 27 thru 29.
3) Why would they post an article tonight on data over a week old? This is probably the last Mason Dixon poll b/4 the election and they wouldn't just put out old #'s.

This is excellent in every way!
It's in time for the morning papers. And good polling data can have a significant impact on last minute deciders. News organizations respect Mason/Dixon...I expect this to get good play. Woooo Hoooo!

"Here are the results of my very own just completed nationwide poll, using all of my free cell phone minutes during nights and weekends..."

- You are to be commended for your keen enthusiasm. I note that you and your forlorn free cell phone minutes has produced results which pretty well match the big polling firms. There must be a lesson in there somewhere.

Yes indeed. PA is just too urban and too close to the NE to go Republican.

I doubt it will go Republican before 2012.

All my FR friends, go out tomorrow AM. Go to church, visit relatives, prepare for the football games, drink heavily. The Sunday morning talk shows will only aggravate you tomorrow. And they will have no real bearing on the outcome of the election. It is the last gasp chance for the libs to try to change your mind.

I agree with you. The campaign is pretty much over at this point. All that remains is to get good Americans to the polls and hope that the slackers and welfare bums sit on their asses on Tuesday.

Everybody should take tomorrow off. Go to church. Watch some football games (that Patriots/Steelers game will be a doozy). Rake some leaves in the yard. Go out for a long walk in the crisp, autumn air. Whatever you do, do. Get your minds off this election for a day. Take a mental break from it all. And get a good night sleep over the next couple of nights. Because if we all do our civic duty and vote for President Bush on Tuesday, we are going to be up very late on Tuesday night! Celebrating!

"Today, a little old lady also came to the door and asked if I was going to vote for Bush."

I just had to laugh out loud on reading that! That is so good. Grandma's are bringing it home for Bush!

Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, Inc. of Washington, D.C. conducted these polls from October 15 through October 18, 2004

Are these any good anymore?

There is a new thread just up that has New Jersey +12 for Kerry - I thought it was close - that is why Bush went there. It seems after he went there and another threat from Bin Ladin, they get closer to him than Kerry but I hear politics is nasty in Jersey just like I hear politics is wacky in Louisiana.

Of course, all Bush needs is Ohio and Florida and it's game, set, and match -- the rest is merely running up the score.

the best part of a football game is mid way through the third quarter when you are 3 sheets to the wind and your team has already won!

but a landslide would shut the libs up because we could then say "mandate!" whenever they whine about things.

Check out this website: www.realclearpolitics.com. It has the same Mason-Dixon numbers showing Oct. 27-29.

Man, it looks really good for Bush! I think the Bin Laden tape will remind people that Bush is the man for the job.

LEAVE NOTHING TO CHANCE.

I just finished going over my turnout list and ended up culling 15% of the adresses and phone numbers. Now I've got to try to find those voters!
