Many soldiers will have a tough decision to make if Kerry is commander in chief

My son in law is in the Navy. After 5 years, he re-upped last year for 3 more. He has thought of making it a career and proudly serves his country.

But like many, many of his comrades, he wonders what he will do if John Kerry becomes the commander in chief.

He knows all about Kerry --- testifying to lies in the Senate, the Winter Soldier lies, the questionable medals, the visits to Paris, the vote whether to assassinate senators, etc. He knows that Kerry's words were used to torture men in custody.

Soldiers and sailors everywhere are worried. Those who have made it a career know that the commander in chief will change and it might not be someone with whom they agree. But he is the commander in chief, and they do their job to serve the country. That is what comes first.

But our warriors have never faced anything like this. Clinton loathed the military and hurt the military, but they survived. With Kerry, they know that they are facing the prospect of being commanded by someone who can truly be called a traitor.

Many of our finest will wonder what to do. Would commander in chief Kerry force them to wear the blue helmets of the U.N.? Would he turn them over to a world court for justice? Would he veto funding bills like the $87 billion?

I had written previously that under Kerry, we might need a draft because of the number of soldiers who would not serve under him.

Right now, our military is the best in the world. Among the reasons are that the men and women respect their commander in chief. And their commander in chief respects them. We will have a nightmare on our hands if the commander changes right now.

I don't believe sHillary can win in '08. If she really wants to be president as desperately we speculate she does, and she thought she could win against GWB, it certainly seems plausible she would have run this time...

Regards,

My son served four years in ROTC and four years stationed in Germany. All during the Clinton years. If you think it doesn't matter who is president I suggest you don't know what you are talking about.

Kerry is a traitor and if he gets into power he and SOROS will betray the USA and the US military

His intention is the brain child of Soros...it is from SOROS that John F Kerry will take his marching orders...

THE MILITARY'S FIRST DUTY IS TO PROTECT UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION AND PROTECT AMERICA FROM ALL ENEMIES BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC... JOHN F KERRY IS THE ENEMY DOMESTIC

Duty is not to the Commander in Chief but to the constitution and to America If the POTUS is the enemy domestic...then the military's duty is clear

If the C n C is insane or criminal to follow blindly is wrong...and not professional

A professional's loyalty must first be to the nation and not any one man...

Anyone who follows Kerry will have an equal share in his betrayal

IMO

I would strongly discourage any son of mine from enlisting while a Democrat was CINC.

Unless it was Zell Miller.

I agree. The oath is to the Constitution and soldiers serve all the time under a commander in chief with whom them disagree. This is different. A TRAITOR, an actual TRAITOR may become commander in chief. He faked military records and turned on his comrades. He has kept hidden military records that would show an other than honorable discharge. It boggles the mind to think that America could be so fooled and be so foolish.

The sad thing about the military, if they start dropping out because of Kerry, is that the safety of our country will be compromised by a weak military. Of course that is what Kerry wants.

I go to basic on the 23rd of November

Two days into whatever the Air Force calls Boot Camp will be Thanksgiving...should be interesting to see if they 'back off' on you raw newbies for such a holiday.

All the best to you, seriously. A whole new world awaits you. You WILL learn (no matter what branch of service) to absolutely despise standing on line, and that'll last for the rest of your life.....My wife gets PO'd if we go to a popular dinner place and the wait is going to be more than ten minutes and I decline, driving over to In-N-Out; she just doesn't understand!

It's up to the electorate to sort this out. We deserve who we vote in. Having said that, I'm confident that President Bush will prevail. My sense is that the average American voter has Kerry figured out for the traitor and fraud that he is, regardless of what the polls say.

Kerry thinks he has it all figured out. If our military is weakened he'll just invite the UN to come in and help us out.

I asked a liberal I know that is voting for Kerry ("he's a true warrior") about a draft being likely if Kerry wins and he angrily told me "there will be no need for a draft...current active duty and reserve/guard will be kept in *for the rest of their lives* by using stop loss or just Kerry signing a simple executive order to make this so"

Sounds like slavery to me.

Bill Clinton protested against the USA during his years at Oxford in several Foreign countrys when we were at war and that is a treasonous act also, but he was never charged and went on to become president.

We've heard, here on FR, of a number of NG and Reserve people who have not re-upped and are awaiting the results of the election. If Bush wins, they will re-up. If Kerry wins, they won't. Simple as that. And who can blame them?

Had Clinton actually joined as he promised Col. Holmes, I have no doubt that he would have also turned on his fellow commrades in arms.

Doug: I trust your son is a patriot, lover of country and a genuine soldier. While Mr. Kerry is many things, he is still a possible President and would be the representtive of this county. However, our country is larger than the leader that sits in the White House. It's us. It's people, a diverse collection of not only patriots but oddballs and some folks who, well it would be hard to classify them. But in general we are a good people. And that's who your son would be protecting and or fighting for. The person in the White House is simply the temporary representative of our country in just one of the equal branches of governnment. Again, if your son is a partiot, a lover of his country and genuine soldier, then he will understand and will continue to serve proudly and at his best. Anything less would be less than the three admirable qualities listed above.
