Election Eve (Eve ; Eve ; Eve) Thoughts on the Responsibilities That Come With Citizensh
self | 29 October, 2004 | joanie-f

Posted on 10/29/2004 5:51:37 PM PDT by joanie-f

At the risk of being labeled an inveterate pessimist, as we approach what may prove to be the most critical election day in our republic’s history, I cannot help but feel a sense of discouragement about America’s future (accompanied, of course, by the knowledge that He works in miracles, so nothing is ever hopeless).

As I see it, we will witness one of three likely outcomes of the November 2nd vote:

(1) If the election is close, the thousands of leftist trial lawyers hired by the DNC and/or Kerry/Edwards, who are already gearing up to take this election out of the hands of the American citizenry and place it in the hands of activist judges, will shift into high gear, and begin an all-out effort to use a combination of validating massive voter fraud, and fabricating pseudo-legal accusations against Bush/Cheney forces, to steal this election. They are preparing to make Florida 2000 look like a romp in the park.

I find it fascinating, although certainly not out of character for these supposed defenders of truth and justice, that they and their kind despise and defile Richard Nixon, whose only major offense was the attempted cover-up of a third-rate political burglary. And yet, faced with the prospect of unveiling blatant voter fraud in Illinois and Texas, without which he may well have been the victor over Kennedy in ’60, Nixon, rather than contest the votes in those highly suspicious precincts vote counts, passively accepted the highly questionable results. The reason: he did not want to put our republic through the kind of cataclysmic Constitutional crisis that would have ensued.

Fast forward forty-four years and we have the same party that was the source of the questionable vote counts in both Chicago and Houston/Dallas, not only not seeking to avoid such a Constitutional crisis, but scheming feverishly, days before the votes are even cast, to see to it that one occurs. Why? Because they are enemies of the Constitution, and will stop at nothing to see to it that an ultra leftist (who, by definition, harbors no allegiance to anything but a globalist utopian agenda) sits in the White House. The Constitution … and America’s sovereignty and security … be damned.

If Tuesday sees the above scenario, we may not know the results of this election until well into the month of December, when the electoral college must meet to choose the new leader of the free world.

(2) If Kerry/Edwards are victorious on the 2nd, the voters of America (although probably not a majority of them – since a statistically significant number of dead people, house pets, felons, illegals, and people with multiple residences will have cast their votes for the democrat ticket) will have voted on the basis of superficial, Madison-Avenue-created, sound bite ‘knowledge’ that bears no resemblance to truth. The majority of Kerry/Edwards votes will have been cast -- thanks to a combination of voter apathy and rampant media bias -- without the benefit of a genuine knowledge of the democrat candidates’ decades-long resumes that exhibit an unambiguous adherence to a treasonous, anti-American agenda.

(3) Bush/Cheney will be victorious. This will be a remarkable outcome (occurring in spite of all borderline criminal machinations), and will only occur if the Republican ticket’s genuine support is nothing short of landslide proportions, the likes of which could not even be negated by massive voter fraud and pre-election plans to steal the electoral votes of swing states whose totals appear close.

But, even if Bush/Cheney are victorious, we cannot long rest on our laurels and assume that all is well. Far from it.

After an election loss, leftists do not simply lick their wounds and accept the voice of the people. And the stakes in this election will magnify beyond all reason the leftist penchant to attack, subvert and destroy those who took victory from their grasp. Elitists, after all, were destined to rule, to dictate, to dole out largesse to the masses. And when the masses do not place them in the positions of power to which they have been called, elitists become enraged, and insatiably vindictive. Civility and law/truth/justice will find themselves obscured by the obsession to gain the power that was not won through the normal channels that representative republican government supplies.

The mainstream media will be relentless in the criticisms, attacks, and counterfeit stories aimed at the President and his lame-duck administration (After all, what price has Dan Rather played for his unprofessional, agenda-driven ‘reporting’ of the Bush/National Guard memos story? The collective long-term yawn with which the public has reacted to his journalistic charlatanism has simply provided the unaccountable media a green light for more of the same).

Even small errors of judgment on the part of this President will be grotesquely magnified so as to rise to the level of an impeachable offense. And the war on terror – especially that portion of it occurring within the borders of Iraq – will be consistently painted with a broad black brush, with the objective of portraying it as Bush’s Waterloo, and America’s final imperialistic failure.

No matter the results of this election, the one and only thing that can prevent the ultimate success of the leftist agenda, many more horrifying terrorist attacks within our borders, and the eventual demise of the glorious American experiment, is the American citizen.

If the polls are accurate, a man who is seeking the Presidency of a nation he loathes is at least within striking distance of a leader who, although his domestic policy weaknesses are numerous, has conducted the war on terror, and the beginnings of the rebuilding of a liberated nation, with something close to brilliance. It would appear that the average American citizen needs either a more responsible, realistic set of priorities, or to spend significant time contemplating the serious, prophetic warning of one of our visionary Founders:

No people will tamely surrender their liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and virtue is preserved. On the contrary, when people are universally ignorant … they will sink under their own weight without the aid of foreign invaders … Samuel Adams in a letter to James Warren, 4 November, 1775

Do we have to do a Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon flowchart in order to determine how the Wizard of Oz theme got introduced into a thread on the American election process? :)

Hilarious stuff going on here in my absence! The discussion of the flying monkeys with briefcases has me laughing out loud. (Lady Jag, we all await your graphic artistry to make real and in living color what we are all envisioning within our own punch-drunk heads. :)

On a more serious note (drat!) …

During my rounds of several Lancaster County neighborhoods today I had a long conversation with an attorney (Republican, through and through) who opened my eyes to some aspects of the democrat modus operandi that I'm ashamed to admit I hadn’t considered. He is not directly involved in the cases, but has several friends who are.

It seems that the thousands of lawyers, funded by democrat organizations, who have fanned out throughout the battleground states have already filed boatloads of lawsuits. Pre-election, they are already bogging down the courts in about a half dozen swing states in order to keep the Republican lawyers (most of whom are assuming a completely defensive posture) and Republican poll workers from being able to focus on their real calling: seeing to it that voter fraud does not rule the day on election day itself. It's a completely diversionary/sleight-of-hand ruse: they are filing hundreds of bogus lawsuits -- many of which have already been thrown out of court as frivolous -- simply to force the opposition to take its eye off of the corruption that will be rampant on Tuesday, especially in urban democrat strongholds.

Damn them.

Something of an aside (Hey! If the rest of you can resort to discussions of the accurate color of the face of the Wicked Witch of the West, I can offer my own digression … :)

Here are some recent photos of American troops in Iraq (courtesy of The Federalist Patriot) – troops who would no doubt find themselves cavalierly accused by the democrat presidential candidate of randomly shooting at civilians, razing villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Kahn (and worse), if it would further his political ambitions, and if his accusations against American military men could not be readily disproven ... this time:

If you aren’t already (and I know many, if not all, of you are), please spend as much time as you can over the next two days trying to open the sleeping eyes of those who do not comprehend that a man who seizes every opportunity to degrade and endanger these decent, courageous, duty-bound men cannot become their Commander in Chief. If you aren’t able to make phone calls or go door-to-door, then talk with friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers. Don’t make assumptions that people with whom you regularly rub elbows are aware and informed of the insidious histories of the two men who comprise the democrat ticket. Don’t assume that they are aware of the miraculous progress this administration is making in the war on terror and the rebuilding of liberated Iraq. Find out how much they don’t know. And, if there is a deficit in their knowledge, educate them! After Tuesday, it will be too late.

Again, many thanks for all of the insightful and informative comments made on this thread. I wish that we posters here represented the American electorate at large. Then we'd have nothing to do but sit back and wait for the best man to win. (*sigh*)

Lawyers have already filed? Isn't there something that can be done about this?

Thank you.

I wish to add, if I may, that something which, most followers of the socialists have forgotten as they make claims that President Bush as been scientific relief of patients' suffering.

Leftists have but one god, and that is their compulsive anxiety disorder which they project upon others in the form of "we" all need to give socialists supreme powers to cure all ills.

That, from people who do not believe in God (for the moment, or for the political moment) and from the same people who do not believe in science, as it is with law, when science and law turns, or is, against socialism, it is science and law that shall suffer.

"Feelings" are "science" ... and witchcraft is the law, and, what the lawyers have become. Anything to pull some closure out of a vat.

If Benjamin Franklin were suddenly alive on the streets of Philadelphia today, I would challenge people to ask him what device intrigues him the most.

I'd venture that people will suggest TV, computers, spacecraft, and the M.R.I. machine.

My answer would simply be the telephone.

Because the telephone represents simply, the fruit of centuries of struggles, many lost, but enough won, in which gains, improvements in the design of law making, led to reliable standards upon which to make agreements that were binding and enabled the advancements of our Yankee ingenuity.

Something that, is a recognition of the actual route that the telephone took, to be an actual working instrument, thanks to the efforts made by some man and his wife, who took the time to make a good set of boots that in turn helped some farmers grow more crops and feed more and help more to have a better head on their shoulders upon which to study.

Every step of the way.

Which methodical discoveries and fruits of such labors, are ignored by leftists' witchcraft; or worse, cruelly derided as a plot against people, "just another scheme by the man to get rich off the sweat of your labors."

The urge by the leftists, who are really anarchists, to return people to nature as it is portrayed by media moguls.

When most have forgotten how cold it is out there, or lacking in clean water, and food, clothing, and shelter.

The leftists will tell you, "Nobody's talking about giving up our comforts!"

No; rather, they are talking about taking them.

We are to believe that what we should fear, is a lessening of medicine that is free; when they propose that instead of supporting the production of medicine, we should divide it up equitably in the name of being "fair."

Add food, clothing, and shelter to that redistribution of the "wealth."

They are asking us to focus our needs upon the present and give in to our urges of the [political] moment.

The leftists say, "We do not want to wait! Let us feast NOW!"

Their lawyers mean to give it to them, and to us, too, in a manner of speaking.

When the stocks are ate up, what then?

What is in their vision then?

Your home, your food, your clothing.

The leftists call that, being "progressive."

It's anarchy; a place in their minds where God and science do not belong; only urges and the promises of witchcraft uttered from lawyers.

Correction to: "they make claims that President Bush as been scientific relief of patients' suffering"

Should be: "they make claims that President Bush as been against scientific relief of patients' suffering"

Here are some recent photos of American troops in Iraq...

May God bless 'em one and all!

I can't imagine the electorate(such as it is) even considering placing the likes of a Jean Keri as CIC of our troops. They endured 8 years of Bent Willie with little complaint. They did their jobs for him just like he was actually worth it. Honoring our troops by giving them another 4 years of a real CIC is the least we can do for them.

I had caught wind of some early legal wranglings by the Dims, but had no idea of the extent. Good to hear that most are being dismisses out of hand as nonsense. Keep the faith. "W" will win handily.....IMHO.

Bush will carry my state easily, and will get my one vote. I pray for a wide margin of success for Bush in the popular and electoral vote. That's about all I can do. There is no way to reason with the liberals I know, though I try.

One thing is for certain. We have had no Waco-level events with Bush in office.

If Gore had been in office on 9/11/01, I have no doubts that the Democrats and their rogue agents in various federal agencies, would have directed an all-out assault against conservatives, gun owners, home-schoolers, etc.; anyone not in lockstep with their liberal agenda. The mainstream media would have abetted the misdirection of hostilities, and liberals would have cheered the destruction of their innocent neighbors.

A Kerry presidency, or any Democrat presidency, during this Islamic war against civilization, will render the same results. Liberal democrats hate and fear America as much as our enemies overseas do.

Democrats have lost their appeal to the majority of voters, and the demographics will work against them for the next two decades. I believe their increased use of voter fraud and underhanded tactics is their last desperate grasp for power, power they would readily abuse to keep. They must be denied.

I stopped by the Tienda La Mexicana in our little town of Rosman (pop. 400) to pick up a few things, and the owner asked me who I intended to vote for. (Not out of the blue, I had mentioned that Bush and Kerry were going to be on Sabado Gigante last night.)

I was a little hesitant about telling her that I intended to vote for Bush, since she and I have become friends over the last couple years. I assumed that she was a Kerry supporter.

Wrong-o. I was pleasantly surprised when she (and the other latina customer standing there) said they both intended to vote for Bush.

My spanish (and her english) aren't good enough for me to learn the fine points of why she chose Bush, but I did understand that they liked Laura very much because she was "Mexican".

I didn't realize that the first lady had Mexican ancestry, but apparently it's true.

Do you realize what this might mean for the hispanic vote?

Things are looking up, I think.

It is Halloween, which might explain the Wiz posts. ; )

"Boatloads of lawsuits"...how American. Seriously, the sacrilegious lengths that these people will go to--it sickens me!

I will continue to try and wake people up to the disingenuous, corrupt, Machiavellian, treacherous nature of these two "men".....we all must speak up for the brave men in these excellent photos, for the children of this nation and for this great Republic. After Tuesday, you are right, it will be too late.

Well, I think it'll be a SWIFT and DECISIVE victory for Bush, but what the heck !?!?! :^D

Gotta be candid with you, Meek. I watched Britt Hume this morning, he did not apear that confident. I think this thing is going to be a squeeker.

After all the negative garbage that the liberal media, the IAEA, UN , Hollywood, Michael Moore, et al, have thrown at Pres. Bush, it's no wonder that folks who haven't paid that much attention to the W.O.T. have their doubts.

Newt Gingrich has said that polls taken over the weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun) are HEAVILY weighted to the 'RATS due to travel schedules of GOP voters. FOX News poll went from Bush by 5 pts. to dead heat over their latest weekend poll.

I say:

That Foxnews poll is encouraging. I hope it's right.
But...I am skeptical. I have heard and seen too much info about the trial lawyers mounting challenges already.
Joanie related her experience about that on this thread.

This election will get dragged into court, unless it's an outright landslide.
Count on it.
