Researcher Alleges Potential Plagiarism in 11 Passages of Kerry's Writings
New York Sun ^ | October 26, 2004 | JOSH GERSTEIN

An academic researcher has found 11 passages in Senator Kerry's published writings that appear to have been taken from other works without attribution, though experts disagree about whether the copying should be considered plagiarism.

Six of the passages come from Mr. Kerry's 1997 book, "The New War: The Web of Crime That Threatens America's National Security." All bear some similarity to news accounts that preceded publication of the book.

"The New War: The Web of Crime That Threatens America's National Security."

I don't know what this book is about, since I never even heard of it, let alone read it. It must be pretty stupid, or the kerry lovers in the MSM would have blared it forth, and we all would have heard of it, the way we heard about "Profiles in Courage" or "Earth in the Balance."

Presumably, just as algore "wrote" "Earth in the Balance" to establish his environmental credentials, Kerry "wrote" this book to establish his national security credentials, in preparation for a run for the presidency. Then things changed, and the book proved to be more harmful than helpful.

Kerry is far too lazy to have participated AT ALL in writing this book. It was ghost-written for him by hired hands, and it's very possible he never even bothered to read it.

He is merely following in the finest liberal tradition. It's called the Harvard disease or plagiarize or perish. Old Joe Biden lifted entire speeches. Joe's speech writer was Lexis-nexis.

You have captured the ‘essence’ of this parasite. Tereyza’s comment about “not having a real job’ is more applicable to her boy John. He stayed in VN 3 months vs. 12. He never showed up for Senate meetings, etc., etc., Newt Gingrich did the heavy lifting…during “do nothing Clinton’s” presidency.

Kerry stole.

This explains why Manny Ortiz is his favorite Red Sox. Manny Ortiz is a famous base stealer, no?

No one forced you to go on this site. Why don't you resume what you were doing; or is your right hand tired?

I have posted this somewhere else - but will repeat it for your edification.

Al Gore and the MSM media have been persecuting GWB since January 2000. He has been derided, smeared and slandered with unproven charges of "lying, betrayal and incompetence" by CBS, CNN, ABC, NBC and the George Soros & Michael Moore's in the Hollywood House Organs.

Clinton never took such hits for proven, documented disgraceful lies and behavior.

When the Democratic party is recaptured by decent America- loving patriots, we shall resume civilized discourse. But at this time we are fighting your crap with pooper scoopers-the weapon of necessity not choice.
Sorry.

"The New War: The Web of Crime That Threatens America's National Security."

This book was cited as a valuable source of information on the drug wars. I had seen Kerry on C-SPAN sometime in the late '90s or in 2000 chairing the Senate inquiry on the war on drugs, afterwhich I tried getting a copy of his book. But that was not to be.

After getting on the net and inquiring at the local used book stores where I was told no copy was available, I called Kerry's DC office. The woman answering the phone said that no one in the office knew where a copy was, and "I doubt if the Senator has a personal copy of his own."

Funny how he cites his writing from time to time and still can't dig up a copy to even loan a serious researcher. Sort of like his anti-Vietnam War works.

Plagiarism is where you steal from a source
Research is where you steal from many sources.

Kerry has stolen from multiple sources so he is a researcher and not a plagiarist. - tom

Who are you kidding? I doubt that you ever voted for a Republican in your life.

When I go on the Democratic Underground site, I expect to find liberals. When you enter a conservative site, what did you expect to find?

As far a giving you last penny to Kerry, I hope you are wealthy. It's money down a urinal.

"First, he's a traitor and now he's a plagiarist to boot.
It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. /sarcasm"

His reputation also includes that of being a gigolo, too.
[Gigolo: "A man living on the earnings of or supported by a woman"]

Like Clinton and the reputation he gained over the years for blatant lying, one must engage in certain behaviors --as a daily way of life --in order to gain a reputation for it.

Quote: "Kerry was well-known as a gigolo, and now is known in Washington as the "ex-gigolo"." ~ Howie Carr of the Boston Herald (who has known him PERSONALLY for a long time).

Kerry the Gigolo

John Kerry twice married for money, was homeless between Heiresses. [Second wife Teresa is 5 years older than he is]

According to Howie Carr, Boston Herald Columnist and WRKO Radio show host, John Kerry was basically homeless, until he married Taareeza (sic) Heinz, and Mr. Carr states that he has known Kerry a long time, in a casual setting, like the after-hours drinking hole, and from being a columnist, learned a lot about the dem candidate.

Between heiresses, Kerry was so broke, he was virtually homeless, begging room and board from friends and even at one point, his ex-brother-in-law.

This was during the late 80's, early 90's and Howie Carr tells of an episode in Kerry's life where he borrows Buicks from a car dealership to drive, and didn't pay a cent, claiming he'd promote the cars on the senate floor.

Howie Carr was on C-Span, Friday, 7/16/04, and he said that Kerry was well-known as a gigolo, and now is known in Washington as the "ex-gigolo".

From a larger, 6 part story on Kerry from the Boston Globe:

"...Kerry's personal life, meanwhile, was becoming increasingly tumultuous. He had separated from his first wife, Julia Thorne, in 1982, and the divorce became final in 1988.

For much of their marriage, Julia, who came from a wealthy Long Island family, had provided significant financial contributions.

The divorce left Kerry strapped for cash and looking for ways to meet child-support payments, campaign debts, and tuition costs.

He took out a $473,000 loan to purchase a home in Washington, thinking his daughters would be staying with him for periods of time. It was "a huge mistake," he says, as he found himself returning to Boston most weekends to maintain his ties to his children and the state. He sold the D.C. home and bought a Boston condo but "lost his shirt" when he sold it a few years later, as he told the Globe in 1996. "He was broke," Blum says. ....

Kerry acknowledges money "was tight" for him in those days. "I was spending all I had," he says. ...

Kerry's current wife, Teresa Heinz, calls the late 1980s his "gypsy period." For months at a time he had no fixed address and crashed instead with his daughters when Julia was away or with Julia's brother David.

Sometimes, he stayed with a girlfriend who had been his former law partner, Roanne Sragow, now a district court judge in Massachusetts. (She declined to be interviewed.) Or he stayed with a Vietnam buddy or on a per diem basis in condos owned by wealthy contributors: developers Finch and Edward W. Callan, and lobbyist and campaign fund-raiser Robert Farmer. ....

Here's a link to Part 6, which is where this link is from: A Candidate in the Making

Links to parts 1-5 are on the right side of the web page, as well as a link for Kerry's life in pictures.

John Kerry: A 'cheap' aristocrat
Born to blue-blood status, wealth came with marriage
The Associated Press
Updated: 12:59 p.m. ET April 7, 2004
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/4685276

...Before he married Teresa Heinz, the heir to the food empire, Kerry had little more than his annual Senate salary of $133,600 and a trust fund valued at $50,000 to $100,000. When his mother died in 2002, he inherited trusts with $300,000 to $1.5 million in assets a pittance compared to his wife’s estimated $500 million.

Second marriage

In 1995, Kerry’s fortunes changed dramatically when he married Teresa Heinz, the widow of Sen. H. John Heinz III of Pennsylvania. His next disclosure report to the Senate included dozens of pages detailing Heinz’s financial portfolio and some of the wedding presents they received ...
