Is there a difference between socialism and communism?

What we call communism is just one variety of revolutionary socialism and what we call socialism is non-revolutionary socialism.

In practicality, I guess, socialism is the gradual seizure of all property from private hands by legal means through an elected government, while communism is the forcible seizure of property by an unelected government of "worker's councils".

So I live in a communist state. Local gov condemns property it wants...elections have been rigged for years...

Pretty scary.

Welcome to NJ!

Is there a difference between socialism and communism?According to K. Marx and his followers "socialism" is a transitional stage to a true "communism".

Communism will be a final glorification of the doctrine, thanks to revolution of "working" class and when achieved there will be no private property, no money in circulation, Everybody will receive "according to his needs", and everybody will be required to contribute "according to his means".

Worldwide commies never reached this Utopian nirvana neither they claim they achieved it but they did not give it up either.
However they changed and camouflaged the terms and tactics, now socialism will be universally achieved by imposing Globalization and Global Government, and communist nirvana will be a Global Village.
Sounds familiar?

"Bolshevik" means "majority," and it started, under Lenin, as the "Social Democrat" party.
