I just sent a note to the mods on that very subject.
Relax guys. IMHO, this is not what Powerline was referring to. They were specific in that it was about Kerry. Let’s wait and see. In fact, this would help President Bush because it was a banned substance. It's used as a triggering device for NUKES. Maybe the NYT is trying to spin it, but it won’t work. If this is all the Democrats have for an October Surprise, its pretty lame.

By the way... I consider any story that does not focus on health care or the economy to be a good story for the President.
Any story that reminds people that we are in a war is a good story.

Yea, I've noticed that. What they don't know is that I check them out too and it's hilarious how freaked out they get with CNN for being "conservative". That cracks me up. We've had nothing but good news this week from several different polls. People quickly lose sight of good news in one silly post that's rehashed news. The Old Media and Kerry have spent their bullets. More Americans do not trust John Kerry and the Old Media because of the willingness to lie, cheat, and steal. Wonderful!!!!!!!
It was Saddam's - otherwise it would have been removed. The protection was a joke, as with the "protection" of the yellow cake uranium - a yellow piece of tape on the storage door saying "IAEA", the only safe keeping was for Saddam when sanctions would be dropped by French efforts. Voila back in Saddam's hands.
BTW, the US removed the Yellow cake without IAEA approval. But the negative stories have traction, true, because the Bush Admin has been so incompetent in nailing IAEA corruption and explaining Iraq in general.

Then why would it be in IAEA "control?" i think the dangerous part for bush is that this stuff was safeguarded before the invasion, but looted once we went in. kerry will talk again about how bush guarded the oil ministry and negllected these stockpiles...
Probably. But lots of stuff was looted, and other explosives...the country was full of them. The angle of this particular story is to appeal to liberal sensibilities because "IAEA" ie, the UN can be invoked. UN still has credibility with them since Bush decided not to expose them on inspections and Food for Oil.

A story that there WERE dangerous weapons in Iraq AFTER ALL..is gonna hurt Bush?
If this puts fear into people that terrorists got their hands on these weapons, and as the polls show, Americans overwhelmingly favor Bush to protect them...this is a win-win for Bush.

DUH! Only the NYT has amnesia. Didn't Homeland Security upgrade the Terrorist threat in August or Sept (which we are still on) because there was a threat of Terrorists BLOWING UP BUILDINGS IN NY, WASHINGTON AND NJ?
I believe at the time, the NYT and MSM was saying that the Bush Adm. was just trying to "scare us" or better yet "lying". Oh yea, it was OLD intelligence, 3-4 years old.
When are these liberals going to take terrorism seriously? After all, they DID hyjack 4 airplanes and brought down the twin towers, flew one into the Pentagon and one into the ground KILLING 3,000 innocent civilians on Sept. 11, 2001.
How about, OKC and BOMBS? TERRORIST ARE GOOD AT PUTTING BOMBS TOGETHER. WHO IS REALLY SURPRISED HERE?
