alright first off I dont condone anything these kids did, and i love ann, and her book. BUT, come-on that is ridiculous, why put them in jail, and stuff. I mean seriously back in the day young kids like myself would do stuff like that all the time to people just for fun, and never was the outcome that serious. More and more, it seems like people blow stuff way out of proportion. It was a cream pie for christ sake. And it did $3000 in damage. Somehow i find that hard to bielieve, and even if it did, make them pay for it and appologize, dont throw them in jail.

This is probably going to get ugly, real darn ugly. And WE didn't start it! WE aren't shooting into campaign headquarters. WE aren't throwing rocks or stealing computers or storming said headquarters. WE are not trashing people's cars, lawns, homes for the simple act of having a political sign in the front. WE are not throwing PIES in ladies faces.

I for one am very happy and proud that so many good men are willing to protect us. As it should be!!!!!!!

My earlier comment about Ann's statements being sobering...I was grinning ear to ear too, when I heard her. She's one tough lady.

For me, the sobering part is what's just around the corner.

Living two miles from beautiful downtown Chester, PA, (urban paradise that it is -- NOT), that is a real possibility here. Suffice to say we are well prepared. Those of us who live on this street alone could pin down a small army with what we've got (grin).

When they rioted in LA, we took the threat mighty seriously.

Well, we're only able to consider what we've been told.
We're taking the school's word for the $3K, and the
perp's word that these were harmless pies.

If the perps want to go to trial over it, I'm sure the
$3K will be challenged. I suspect the caselaw on assault,
however, is well-settled, even for pie assaults.

But it isn't going to go that far, because they will
settle for lesser charges, and if the actual damage
is less than $3K, they may pay less. If they're smart,
they'll take the initiative to apologize and pay a lesser
amount. They may not be smart.

If they have to hire lawyers, the $3K will seem cheap.

The real bottom line here, is that with the real
violence being committed by anti-conservatives, there
is little tolerance for crap like this just now.

If they had pulled this stunt on a real political
candidate, they might have been shot dead by over-eager
security people.

No. That's Maricopa County where Phoenix is. Sheriff Joe Arpao (sp?) lives somewhere in the small town I live in, Fountain Hills, AZ.

I love the pink underwear he issues the inmates so they won't steal it. Locks them up in surplus army tents because the country is too cheap to build enough jails. Has a neon sign on a tower outside the "tent city jail" saying "Vacancy".
