JOHN KERRY'S OIL SLICK
New York Post ^ | October 12, 2004 | NICOLE GELINAS

Posted on 10/12/2004 6:39:15 AM PDT by OESY

Fifty dollars buys a barrel of oil and some cheap demagoguery — witness John Kerry's new television ad.

..."Our freedom and independence are at stake. I want an America that relies on its own ingenuity and innovation, not the Saudi royal family . . . no young American should be held hostage to our dependence on Mideast oil."

Teresa Heinz Kerry ventured... "John will never send a boy or girl in a uniform anywhere in the world because of our need and greed for oil"....

But an isolationist stance — economic or political — toward the Middle East won't starve the despots there of any of their billions in oil revenues. And it won't make America any safer.

Sure, the feds could plow billions into unproven energy technologies, as both Bush and Kerry pledge to do.

But Kerry could launch the most ambitious renewable-energy program in the world, and succeed beyond his wildest dreams — and he'd shave just a few percentage points from America's total oil consumption, at most....

Cheap oil is no longer America's singular interest in the Mideast — stopping terrorism is. To do that, America must remain painfully involved in the region.

President Bush is trying to sow democracy in the Middle East so that repressed Muslims don't launch suicide attacks against Americans in their nihilistic bids for martyrdom....

A truly free Iraq — one free of the oil cartel and of a state-run oil industry — would represent the Iraqis' best chance to break free of their petroleum-soaked economy....

And an Iraq free of OPEC could ease Saudi Arabia's real and imagined power over oil prices — Iraq's oil reserves are third only to those of the Saudis and Iran.

But Kerry would rather soothe voters with fantastical plans....

What a crock of bull.

There is no way George Soros is going to dump millions into getting Kerry elected and then allow that idiot to cut Soros' oil off from coming into America.

Can you imagine an American president who goes around insulting other countries as often as Kerry does? I'm sure the Saudis are thrilled with his remarks. Unless a country is an outright threat, Bush treads lightly and shows much more diplomatic tact than Kerry ever does.

I'm sure that Kerry will gladly point to his record in the Senate to help American achieve energy independence.

and this is coming from a man who spent 20 years in the Senate doing absolutely frigging NOTHING except loaf around and making buddies with America's enemies.

When Bush W. took office he immediately tried to get everyone on board with more drilling in Alaska, but all we got was "we gotta protect the environmemnt" bullshit from the democrats.

Well now that oil is over $50 barrel they flip-flop and play the "goto war for oil" & "bush's rich oil friends are making a killing of the ordinary joe" bullshit.

Gosh I hate these damm hypocrites.

Generally, Republicans work, Democrats play. The Dems work really hard though when they are enacting huge social programs or huge taxation schemes. Otherwise, it's party, party, party.

Teresa Heinz Kerry ventured into the American oil patch last weekend to make the same point for her husband. "John will never send a boy or girl in a uniform anywhere in the world because of our need and greed for oil," Heinz Kerry promised Texas voters Sunday.

First off, no one ever sent a "boy or girl" to fight overseas. The last I checked, they were "men and women." Second, even if the United States were to become completely oil-independent, our trading partners and allies rely heavily on foreign oil, and it is in our definite best interest (as it was in 1991) to protect their access to that oil.

During his 20 years in the Senate, what legislation has John Kerry authored that addresses this issue?

None? How could that be? I thought this was a burning issue for him.

Subject: Please include this in the daily report to the chairman - Democrat Donor & Kerry friend received $22 million in "Oil for Food" Scandal

1-.  NEWSWEEK: Democrat Donor received $22 million in "Oil for Food" Scandal
10/10/04 | Becki Snow

If the name of a "Big Money" Political Party Donor with ties to Enron were discovered on the Saddam's Coalition of the Bribed, what do you think would happen to the Candidate of that party?

What if that Candidate of that Party was John Kerry?

Newsweek drops a bombshell on the Kerry Campaign: Texas Oil Baron and Big-Time Democrat Donor Oscar Wyatt has received perhaps as much a $22 million dollars in profits through oil allocations bought illicity from Saddam Hussein.

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6214647/site/newsweek/

Who is Oscar Wyatt? More than just a oil man, he's an outspoken critic of both Gulf Wars, and a big time Democratic Party Donor...

As per Houston's Clear Thinkers:

The 10-K also disclosed that one of El Paso's units has been subpoenaed by a grand jury from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to produce records regarding the United Nations' Oil for Food Program governing sales of Iraqi oil. The unit, El Paso CGP Company, was formerly Coastal Corp., which the company acquired in January 2001. The former chairman of Coastal -- Oscar Wyatt -- was an unabashed critic of Operation Desert Storm in the first Persian Gulf War and has been a vocal public critic of El Paso's management over the past several years.

Wyatt appears to have used his ill-gotten gains wisely - buying the leftovers of Enron.

According to New Age Business:

Enron said that the company and the Official Unsecured Creditor's Committee decided the CCE offer was best. Enron previously had said NuCoastal LLC, a company run by Texas billionaire and Coastal Corp. founder Oscar Wyatt Jr. had offered $2.2 billion in May.

So how does this affect Kerry? Well, perhaps we should couch it in terms even the Old Press can understand:

Big Oil, bribed by Saddam Hussein, helped pay for John Kerry's Campaign. Money used to buy Hussein's army's guns helped pay for John Kerry's campaign. Guns used to kill American Soldiers helped pay for John Kerry's campaign...

This may explain why John Kerry thinks the war in Iraq was a mistake. I believe the mistake may be his.

I am also sick and tired of Kerry, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton campaigning from a church. Can you imagine what would happen if Bush, Jerry Fallwell, and Dobson did something like that? The ACLU and the IRS would be down on them in a heart beat. How in the heck do they get away with that BS and other crap they do. I AM FED UP!

Do a google search of "soros+oil+fund" or substitute fund for portfolio or something similar.

Kerry was in Santa Fe with King Fat-Bill Richardson talking about energy independence. Fat chance given Richardson's latest orders to the state oil commission putting so many restrictions on drilling for oil and natural gas in an untapped basing in southern New Mexico that it will unlikely be drilled, even at $50 a barrel oil prices.

They talk a great line, but the rich (living of daddy's money), liberal, wood burning hippies of Santa Fe have no idea what it takes to operate a modern society that they benefit so much from.

John Kerry would be happiest if he could use the "athletic" approach to eliminating terrorism..

How to fight a nuanced war against nuisances.

The last flyswatter shows that Kerry acknowledges that we live in a high tech world.

Isn't this the same tactic as saying the President has given the drug companies $169 billion in subsidies and also that his "big drug company buddies are sticking it to the average joe"?

Are the subsidies for research? Aren't the lefties also crying for more money for AIDS drug research? Wouldn't that just be more drug company subsidies?
