TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) - Police have arrested 17 non-Libyans suspected of being al-Qaida members who entered this North African country illegally, the interior minister said Sunday.

Nasr al-Mabrouk said the men are from the Indian subcontinent and Central Asia and were arrested when they entered Libya.

Al-Mabrouk did not specify the nationalities of the men, say when they were arrested or say whether they entered Libya individually or as a group.

"Preliminary investigations proved that the group, numbering now 17, has a connection with Osama bin Laden, but the nature of this relation has not been established yet," al-Mabrouk told The Associated Press.

Al-Mabrouk provided no details on the men's aims in Libya but said more information would be released in coming days.

Libya has been known for a tolerant approach to immigration and foreign labour, but under European pressure it has toughened its stance and arrested hundreds of would-be immigrants.

This would never have happened had President Bush not "persuaded" Qadaffi to join the world...

Libyans arresting Al Queda?

But according to Kerry/Edwards/MSM, diplomatic efforts have failed with foreign nations under Bush and Bush only has force to resort to.

What gives?

Makes me think that the only reason Kerry doesnt want Bush to involve other countries in talks with North Korea is Kerry has friends who supplied N Korea with some goodies.

Previous winners of the prize, which has been awarded each year since 1989, include Cuban President Fidel Castro and South Africa's President Nelson Mandela.

Doesn't matter.

The sheetheads would like for sKerry to be President, but they'd behead him just a quick as they would any other infidel.

Bad News for Kerry!

Even a country we are not counting in the Coalition is fighting the good fight!

By coming clean Libya has become a target. I am not a bit surprised. Part of the unspoken Bush doctrine of hanging jihadi bug lights out in places other than the US.

They were caught because Libya was expecting them. I am sure British, Russia, Israeli and our intelligence or some combination thereof was instrumental in helping the Libyans catch them.

You know, a picture of his body guards might have been a little easier on the eyes.

I think this is more of a case of 'we can smell our own'. Libya's ties into both international terror and covert weapons production are as deep as they go. Next to Iran, they're about the last country a terrorist would want to go over to the 'dark side'.
