On who can better handle the issues of terrorism and Iraq, viewers moved more toward Bush than Kerry after the debate...
...Viewers also gave increased support to Bush on terrorism, initially favoring the president by 52% to 45%, but favoring him by an even larger margin after the debate, 56% to 39%.

Yep. Its not good. I don't think Kerry can overcome a 17 point gap in the three weeks that are left in this race. He really blew it last night and its just as well liberals are in a state of complete denial.
Oh but if we vote for Kerry we also get the wisdom of the UN to protect America with powerful resolutions declaring suicide bombing can be hazardous to your health. /sarcasm
Add this good news to the recent rasmussen daily tracking poll results (www.rasmussenreports.com), and the Prime Minister in Australia winning reelection, and we have a lot of good news. The key, however, is going to be turnout. I expect the other side to push the law as much as possible and cry fowl to distract us. Get the Bush supporters to the polls on election day and we will win.
"Demonstrated he is tough enough for the job" also has a Bush advantage by 53/40. But they say this is a 13 % drop for Bush (???).
That 17 point Terrorism spread will convert into a 6 point election spread across the board of polls by Tuesday. Dickie Morris was right, Bush won. When MSM is calling it a tie, that translates to a Bush win in average American eyes.
This is key and exactly what the pundits were trying to spin away from last night.
Boy I wonder when Kerry will surprise us with the news that he was in Vietnam. I be that will change things....... ;-)
Going to be fun watching DU explode. Gotta remember to buy lots of popcorn. Heehee...
"Most of the people who died on 9-11 had a job with health care and retirement benefits. The air at ground zero became an environmental disaster within seconds. A strong economy depends on keeping commercial airline ballistic missiles from being launched into Wall Street. Social security is more than an adequate pension; it requires living long enough to retire. No Child Left Behind has taken on special meaning with the news that federal agents have advised school district officials in Georgia, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, Oregon and California that al Qaeda may have American children in their cross-hairs. The most important thing isnt finding WMDs in Iraqits not finding them here.
On November 2, keep in mind what mattered most on 9-11."
I guess these pollsters didn't see the media all over the networks this morning talking about Bush's bad performance last night...
How can Kerry numbers be so low? I mean everyone knows Kerry has a plan! (Tongue firmly in cheek).
Bush - 50.X%
Kerry 48.X%
Other 1.X%
Bush - 295 EV
Kerry - 243 EV
Indeed!
(See tag line)...
That's really weird about the economy, and that this is the only poll so far handing the debate win to Kerry, though Bush mopped the floor with him. My daughter, who was listening to the rerun of it this morning, thought the president did surprisingly well on the economic questions.
"Hugh,
I wrote after the first debate when it seemed you and I were the only ones who thought the President had won. I stand by my original analysis with the boxing analogy. Bush was able to land some strong blows this round, and once again Kerry did not hurt him at all. After this round Bush is stronger and loose (just warming up). Kerry is breathing hard (labored), and his right eye is swelling up.
Bush tagged him hard, a right to the face, with the liberal label. Giving his opponent a bloody nose. All Kerry could manage was a wobbly backpedal into the ropes.
NOTE: Good boxers never move backwards, they always slip or defend by moving laterally or they cover and counter attack.
Bush has denied Kerry any room on the right. Exposing Kerry's weakness on the right (flip/flop right/wrong war etc.). With his right eye swelling shut, Kerry is now committed to moving to the left. Bush owns the right. He can work over Kerry's right eye, jabbing with his left hand (credibility, flip/flop, denigrating allies.) while setting him up for a decisive attack from Bush's right against Kerry's left.
Reverting to his leftward bias exposes Kerry to Bush's strong right hand. The President has closed off the escape routes. Leading up to the next debate, expect Team Bush to deploy their right hand agressively. Kerry's left hand counter punches over Bush's right hand have lost speed and strength and no longer poses a threat to the President. Kerry simply lacks the ability(credibility) to deliver a solid blow from the left rendering his only weapon impotent.
Bush is fighting his fight. Kerry has no way to maneuver for a decisive blow. In the third debate expect the President to attack with impunity hitting Kerry with his right hand, head and body achieving a decisive knock down if not a KO. It's going to be bloody.
Take Care,

A former Navy boxer"
What an image eh? To complete the touch, one might well say Kerry's "Read my flips, no new taxes" illustrates he doesn't even bring former President Bush's - the President's father - Bush 41's once vaunted credibility on taxes to the table insofar as domestic policy is concerned. What a position to be in with three weeks to go in this campaign.
Three words: Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida. Bush must win two to be re-elected.
Bush will win OH and FL. I think PA's more like icing on a sweet cake. We'll see November 2nd.
Those are the two states with the largest threat of vote registration fraud right now, so it is dicey.
