None of us want to live through that again. It's rather startling so many of us are on edge tonight. If nothing else, it might spur us to vote, to get others out to vote. It's truly going to come down to TURNOUT so long as Bush can keep it close (although I and my digestive tract would SOOOOOOO much rather have an undeniable WIN).

No Scotch in this house, cuz I don't drink whiskey. I've got plenty of dark chocolate though.

There's nothing GWB can say or do, neither no mistake Kerry can make that will cause the MSM to spin this as anything other than a Kerry victory.

Okay guys what's the "freep the poll" rules for tonite. Let them go 100 for kewwy, or does someone got bots this time. The da@n press was so confused by their polls last time. Foxnews didn't know what to do the next morning, their polls going 70% for Edwards and they thought it might be right!

"Didn't Gibson tell Kerry he knew what went on because he was there, and Kerry kept interupting Gibson and saying he was wrong?

Am I mistaken, or was that Gibson?"

IIRC, it was Gibson. Not because I saw the interview, but I'm pretty sure GLGB posted about it, and I hope he'll correct me if I'm wrong.

Chocolate martinis are the best for this type of work. with the espresso in them, you've got a no lose drink. You're up all night, but who the hell cares!

During the VP debate, we simply didn't have enough horsepower on the frontend. I've more than doubled our frontend capacity by adding a second machine. This problem will not be repeated.

Elsewhere, I've tuned components in an effort to take tonight's spike. I benched 150 simultaneous hits with the system performing reasonably. We will be able to take the hits tonight, though around 150 hits per second response time will jump from less than 1 second to less than 2 seconds. Not bad, but could be better. With a few more weeks effort I will improve that score.

If all else fails, I'll put the forum into "overload" mode and turn off graphics and we'll pull through tonight. Worst case.

I am going to be standing in line the MOMENT the early voting places open. I want to get it DONE--my nerves can't take the waiting. Then I can just BREATHE-- right before the long wait till it is truly over on the 2nd!

Exactly. Absolute best case scenario they would even think of declaring is a draw.

Hey, can you change the title of this to "live debate thread", since it begins in 48 minutes.

Don't rush things Jose..... we have to get to the ondeck phase before going to the live phase..... Hang in there.

"something caused it to change, don't have a clue what it was."

The same thing happened to me, only it went to tiny type, which meant I couldn't read it at all. I put in a plea here on FR, and sure enough, someone came to my rescue.

Everyone needs to check out Drudge's page. Then hit the ABC offices with questions about their impartiality BEFORE the debate starts!

Indeed! Follow this link to contact ABC now!

I sent a letter to the editor at 3pm this afternoon, to the most Conservative newspaper in the state and said Kerry won the debate tonight. Doing my part to help the DUmmies get caught in their own game.
