WASHINGTON Saddam Hussein did not produce or possess any weapons of mass destruction for more than a decade before the U.S.-led invasion last year, according to a comprehensive CIA report released yesterday.
Saddam intended to someday reconstitute his illicit programs and rebuild at least some of his weapons if United Nations sanctions were eased and he had the opportunity, the report concluded. But the Iraqi regime had no formal, written strategy to revive the banned programs after sanctions, and no staff or infrastructure in place to do so, the investigators found.

To mask their own incompetence?
OK, even if that is true, so what? Saddam killed millions, used chemical weapons, invaded a neighboring country, attacked Israel with scud missiles, and violated the cease-fire from the first Gulf War. He needed to go, and the world is a better place for him being out of the picture.
OOPSIES.
Wait...you mean that Madeline Albright and Clinton lied when they said he had chemical weapons of mass destruction??? does anyone have their quotes on that? about the sarin and the vials Saddam purchased????? was Kerry on the INTELLIGENCE committee during this time when all these 'ERRONEOUS" reports were made??? or is this all Bush's fault?
Me neither. However, the geographic advantage of our troop placement in the center of the ME more than justifies it for me.
Saddam was himself a WMD! There is a documentary out using video found in Iraq that shows his henchmen cutting off fingers, cutting out tongues, horrendous beatings etc. Saddam himself told everyone, including his inner circle, that he had WMD. His own henchmen did not find out the truth until we invaded! They thought they would be able to use these weapons against us and when they found out they could not, they laid down their weapons and ran! Of course, the MSM will only tell us the parts of the report that they think will hurt President Bush!
That's it. Sorry I got it jumbled. Thanks for posting it.
Looks like we were duped by Chalabi's group.
I also wonder about how much intelligence on Iraq we got from Israel. They wanted Saddam gone. What bugged me was that right around the time we invaded Iraq, Debka and others started on the "WMD convoy to Syria" business. Seemed like a perfect way to cover your trail - falsely claim something was there and then say it moved "just before" the cops get there.
Now Henry Lee II, you're confusing the issue with facts again. The real issue is removing W from office and that end result justifies any means.
LOL! I needed that.
Right.
I don't think we would ever be able to trust Saddam Hussein, no matter what out "allies" like France and Russia did. But it's conceivable, IMHO, that had all of the nations presented a united front against him, Saddam would have acted somewhat differently and cooperated more. Again, not likely at all, but not impossible.
Does that mean that France and Russia made the war more likely and therefore have blood on their hands? Depends on how you look at it, I suppose . . .
Good post.
No he is not. He is begging for mercy.
1. It's a thousand, not thousand
2. Bush said gathering threat, not imminent
3. Saddam-Al-Quaida ties were demonstrated by the 911 commission
3. Bush never claimed Saddam attacked the territory of the US
4. Was he planning any terror acts against us, you wanna bet?
5. Please, be accurate when trying to make your point, not just repeat Terry-Kerry talking points
6. Saddam ties to world terrorism is a proven fact (support of Hamas, Abu-Nidal, etc.)
7. Saddam was supposed to prove he did not have WMD, not Bus
8. Ousting Saddam and killing thousands of terrorists flocking to Iraq is a very positive thing
9. And so on, and so forth (Qaddafi budging, etc.)
Sorry for the typos.
And in general, you want to continue to fight as an honest pugilist, while the other guy keeps kicking you in the crotch. I wonder, how long you can carry on like that.
Thanks. I keep a lot of this stuff stored away for just such posts. Its good ammo to have on hand to spring on your 'Rat co-workers, relatives, and the like.
