http://www.suntimes.com/output/entertainment/cst-ftr-vfc05.htmlNote: John Mellencamp and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds have added a Chicago date to their leg of the Vote for Change tour. Mellencamp and Edmonds will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Riviera Theatre, Racine at Broadway and Lawrence. Tickets are $57 and may be purchased through www.mellencamp.com. Ticket buyers must be 18 years old and a registered U.S. citizen.
The Saturday October 9th show was added, while the Friday October 8th show in Miami was cancelled. Coincidence?
$57?? and you have to be a registered U.S. citizen to buy tickets??
That is beautiful. From mellencamp.com:
"Due to the federal regulations of John's involvement with Vote for Change, you must be at least 18 years of age and a registered U.S. Citizen to purchase tickets to these shows. If you elect to purchase tickets to the Vote for Change tour, you are making a financial contribution to ACT."

Yes, it was a wonderful movie. One to own and view every now and then. Why can't we have more movies like that? Maybe because the entertainers are too busy making political statements rather than searching out good scripts with wholesome, moral values?? Just a guess on my part.

It grieves me that John Mellencamp has gotten into liberal politics. He used to be one of my favorites. He has deteriorated over the last 10 years or so. To paraphrase one of his own songs he should "forget all about that pinko _____ and learn how to play guitar."

Some leftists, politics aside, are pretty damn talented. My sister and I are both big fans of the Dave Matthews Band. So one night, I was complaining about all the political crap that's come out of his mouth. Her reply was:
"I don't listen to DMB for their politics."

CMT (Country Music Television) has been trying to resurrect Mellencamp's career the past two years. CMT has done that with a number of rock stars whose career had slided, CMT given them video time -- then you find out they're vocal leftists. Sheryl Crowe, Jimmy Buffett. CMT even gave Linda Ronstadt some air time right after the controversy about her Las Vegas appearance.
I'm SOOOOO glad I canceled my cable.

He's about as culturally relevant as C.W. McCall at this point. The group that now records as "Manheim Steamroller". Great Christmas music!

We're from the great state of Indiana and WE ARE ASHAMED OF JOHN MELLENCAMP'S Traitorous attitude towards this country. John, pick up your used CDs at the recycling center. Ditto. And his drummer is an aquaintance of mine, besides!

Any word on Johnny Cougar abusing someone in a fit of "peaceful" rage?
Sometimes you can't make this stuff up.

I feel sorry for you
