:-) The inspiration for my screenname came from October Sky, a wholesome, uplifting, inspiring, family-oriented movie I viewed shortly before creating my account.

I heard it was due to a votergasm.org party scheduled for the same night. liberal sex party or JCM vote for change concert. Tough choice for the vain/venal S.B. crowd.

Thanks for the link. It's not hard to figure out that a certain bus is a Toby Keith bus, but maybe my paranoia is showing.

You should email this to Boortz and Hught Hewitt. They might put this on their sites. This is very good. Send it to drudge too.

Great movie. And a true story, to boot.

He's about as culturally relevant as C.W. McCall at this point.

Even less so. Just this morning I saw a television ad that uses an audio clip from "Convoy".

John "Cougar" Mellencamp isn't one of them.

I never liked his music and don't know why his act was ever popular.

Pinko Mellencamp is so has-been, irrelevant is not even a strong enough term.

Yes. Rather than settle for his father's low expectations of a bleak life of coal mining, a teenager decides to literally shoot for the stars and learn about math, science and space travel! The movie was as inspiring and as uplifting as a Ronald Reagan speech.

Currently concerts are the last thing on the minds of Floridans.
Hundreds of thousands of people are living in shelters or tents in their former backyards. Homes that normally would be condemned due to storm damage are being lived in because the only option is a shelter or tent.
Hundreds of new mobile homes are arriving daily to be used to provide a roof over peoples heads. Temporary mobile home cities are being setup in the parking lots of closed shopping centers.
Tens of thousands more are out of work because their former employers businesses have been destroyed. The situation here is grim for many people and it won't be changing for quite a while.
Responses to polls in Florida are only being being answered by those lucky enough to have power and telephones. Most people are spending all their time trying to find their insurance adjuster, contact FEMA, dig out from under the debris that used to be their home or find emergency assistance.

Okay, boys and girls, today's cultural trivia. Although outdated and culturally irrelevant as C.W.McCall, most of you will hear and enjoy the same artist over the coming months, and many people will pay to see him perform. If you listen to Rush, you will certainly hear him. The Artist Formerly Known as C.W.McCall is known today as Chip Davis, arranger and general head dude of Mannheim Steamroller.

That's a big 10-4 on those Happy holidays.
