After-debate discussion here!
Cheney clearly spelled out why the adminstration should be "rehired" by the American people. He clearly addressed the Breck Girl's charges and threw some grenades as well that clearly affected their target. He succeeded in defining Kerry and Edwards as "not ready for prime time" and overall gave a far superior performance than the President.
Another thing: North Carolina juries must be filled with some STOOOPID people if they fell for Edwards "aw shucks" barnyard delivery.
The Fox crew are being WAY too kind to Edwards.
Kudos to Gwen Ifill for a job well done.
Thanks for directing me to this thread , Howlin.
Loved it! I never met you until tonight...
Breck was phony, Cheney was real and dead on!
Cheney was grand tonight. Articulate. Responsive.
Edwards could learn a lesson or two from him.
Go Team Bush and Cheney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Team Bush and Cheney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheney actually said that?
What an asskicking...
Now I agree... With that as the standard, I have to agree Bush lost Night 1... If he can do HALF as good on Friday as Cheney did tonight, Kerry Edwards will be a footnote in the history books.
AOL has Cheney losing to Edwards and the Fox Newsettes are completely out of touch with the debate. It wasn't even a contest. Edwards is just a so called "pretty" face that rambles like a silly woman (I'm female so I'm not gender bashing) and doesn't answer questions.
Fox is annoyingly trying to be more left leaning, and it's starting to suck.
Cheney won the debate hands down. Ifill was a good moderator. And if I'm not mistaken, breck boy never answered the second question - Would Saddam Hussein still be in power had John Kerry been President? The second part of the debate was just so much words, and was pretty much a wash. Much ado about old arguments, and no clear way to solve the problems.
Cheney's final statement was awesome, he looked directly
at the nation and spoke with conviction.
Edwards didn't make the case, he kept on with "the plans we have" and never gave a hint of what they were.
He cheated several times, once would be an oversight, more is indicative of his nature.
I did not see Cheney make that mistake once.
Thank God we have this man a heart beat away.
t.
Edwards can take some comfort in the fact that his hair looked good.
Cool .. that last thread was killing my computer *L*
Cheney won hands down.
"If you can't stand up to Howard Dean how can you stand up to Al Qaeda?"
Cheney looked Vice Presidential. Edwards looked like a lawyer....
The talking heads are bad mouthing Cheney. Ridiculous.
On to the debates: If you have been paying any attention, Cheney has facts, Edwards charming promises built around a few lines ("we'll hunt down and kill terrorists", "Kerry has been consistent", snide implications that Cheney and Halliburton are dirty, etc). If you don't know anything, its probably a close debate. Here's my reasoning: Cheney tells you hard he and GWB have been working and what's been accomplished. Edwards points out that things aren't perfect--they never are--and offers you rosy promises if you'll change. If you buy that sort of argument, you vote for the new guy every four years anyway. I don't think Edwards got any real traction with his smooth, folksy trial lawyer promises against anyone except those who like to be romanced or are already decided.
Humor note: Edwards plan to have lawyers self-police themselves on frivilous suits by committee. HAHAHA!
Cheney definitely held his own--more than his own on facts. Gwenn Iwill's questions were a bit loaded at the beginning, but they got more fair as time went on, and Cheney relaxed. I liked her moderating a lot better than Lehrer's.
BTW: Am I alone in thinking that Bill Kristol is gay?
Start Freeping the news channels with this Dick Cheney Kicked A** I can only do so much!! An you know the RATS are doing it!
/crazy typing psycho rant
