Just got in from work, folks.
I take it from a quick perusal of the thread that Cheney is taking the Breck Girl to School? Is it too much to hope that Edwards is coming off like Michael Jackson during his first night as a member of the General Prison Population?
Please, folks, bring me up to speed.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
tune into cspan 2 now for the closer
John Edwards got his ass handed to him. It was embarrassing. Cheney absolutely destroyed him.
I'm glad you're here for the closing remarks. It pretty much sums up the difference between the "we'll get stuff for you" guys and the "we'll go beat the hell out of the bad guys to you can go on with your lives" guys.
best line of the night... when the boss of the Senate, dick cheney called breck pu$$y into heck, for not showing up for work, for the last four years...
and kerry too.
they don't show up for votes, or committees...
and they want to be president and veep?
what makes anyone think they will do their jobs THEN, when they haven't done them now as senators?
Don't be fooled by all the ridiculous screaming cheerleaders and koolaid brigade, Edwards performed well, he's a good liar and lawyer, has landed some blows, and somewhat blunted a few of what could have been devastating attacks from the VP.
Luckily the VP for the most part was also on his game, was aggressive, and at times quite well at exposing some of the lies and techniques of the Dems. Good mix of defense and offense from the VP, but also effective change-the-subject bullcrap multitopic bombardment of lies from Edwards. Overall I'd score it advantage Cheney, the Dems did not improve their situation, but didn't lose much either, being able to hammer out many of their repeated myths without having them refuted and exposed one by one.
Probably result will be a slight rebound strengthening of the GOP numbers, and little change in the Dem numbers. We're probably still at about a 5 pt. lead.
Cheney smacked Edwards around like a jailhouse girlyman. For some reason, the media is spinning this as Cheney winning foreign policy and Edwards winning the domestic portion. Even Fred Barnes subscribed to this... I don't know what debate they were watching!
