My wife is an RN at a hospital in Illinois. Yesterday, she told me that her hospital received a terror alert.

Apparently, some men of Middle Eastern descent (go figure) have been staking out Chicagoland hospitals, asking strange questions, taking pictures, and appearing and disappearing at different locations. When asked for ID, they respond that they're either residents or visitors and then quickly leave. They even tried bribing a guard for a wheelchair.

Now, all the hospitals in the state are on alert.

Anyone out there in FRland know anything more about this?

There were reports in August of suspicious Middle Easterners casing hospitals in NJ, asking questions about ambulances and such. New warnings went out at this time and made the rounds to hospitals pretty much everywhere, as far as I understand.

I wonder if this is expounding on that?

Sure would like to know if Chicago hospitals were cased, specifically....which ones?

On occasion our Security Department will receive security related information involving other statewide healthcare organizations. Today I would like to pass along information on two separate incidents that have occured in northern Illinois.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Department informed northern Illinois hospitals the following information. On Wednesday, Sept. 29th, at the Valley West Community Hospital Emergency Dept. in Sandwich, Illinois two Middle Eastern males arrived. One stated he was a Chief Medical Resident from a hospital in Cleveland. IVWC stated that this was highly unlikely. The two gentlemen began asking questions as to Valley West's bioterrorism plans, emergency exits, security programs, whether or not they had helipcopter capabilities, distance from major highways and interstates. When a nursing supervisor requested some type of official indentification, they hastily departed.

On Sunday, Sept. 26th, at Illinois Valley Community in Peru, Illinois, two middle eastern males were wandering around the hospital. When questioned by a staff member, they stated that they were going to take their father on an outing and needed a wheelchair. The staff indicated that they did not sell wheelchairs there. They left and then came in another door. They were again stopped by another staff member. They offered to pay $100 for a wheelchair. When the staff person stated that he would have to call someone, they two males "took off running" out the door.

To date, there hasn't been any similar activity reported at our hospital. To our knowledge, there hasn't been any related incidents at other healthcare facilities in central Illinois.

I just wanted to remind all staff to be alert and report any type of suspicious behavior to the Security Department.

These guys just aren't very bright. A wheelchair just isn't that hard to come by.

My suspicion on that is that they were attempting to see how far bribery could get them. Apparently in Beslan, bribery was a key to securing the school.

Either that, or, in the case this is a test of some kind, to see how guards respond to bribery.

I am kinda thinking this year, I will not get a Flu Shot. I do not trust where these vacines are coming from.

As I have never had or will never have a flu shot, I will
offer this thought to scare you a little more.

Remember the muslim ?doctor, last year, he gave shots in California, Arizona, Washington and Nevada, using a substance that no one knows what it contained?

He even had a muslim doctors training school, in Washington, as I recall, I don't remember the names, but did go to the school site at the time he was in the news.

Large companies were hiring him to come and give shots to the employees.

There was no record that he had ever bought flu vaccine.

As I recall it, he was not a real doctor either.
