Here are the specific frames from the debate video shoqing most clearly what Kerry had in his hand as he took it out of his pocket and placed it on the podium.

I have taken two of the frames, lightened them, zoomed in, and sharpened the pics. No other enhancements have been made:

Well, that's the way they're going to spin it now.

But take a look at these 2 different links. I have looked repeatedly, and cannot see President Bush take anything out of his pocket, but there is no doubt that Kerry does.

But, WHY Lehrer in the first place? Surely Pres. Bush and the people around him understand PBS is NOT on his side? If they don't we're in more trouble than I thought.

Bob Schieffer was original going to be the moderator of this first debate in Foreign policy... but got he got switched out for Lehrer at the last minute...Schieffer was not even told but found out by reading the paper ...Lehrer is about as hard core left as you get....Bill Clinton and the Democrats have refer to Jim Leher as “Our Moderator”why the switch at the last min.... was it that Leher was willing put in the fix? while Schiffer wouldn't?

As to your question why the Republican let this happen?... well they don't call them the "stupid party" vs the "evil party" for nothing... Republican just have a habit of letting up and playing nice...the avg. Republican just doesn't get the Dem mind set.. I do. (I got some union Dem family)... to them it's not their civic duty to vote...it their civic duty to stuff a ballot box... its the civic duty to cheat to win ... if a true believer Dem had an opportunely to cheat to win and DIDN'T..then they would be ashamed

I don't have cable anymore so I was watching on ABC and noticed they were showing Presidents Bush's back several times. I guess this was to show everyone he is wearing a bullet proof vest. I also noticed when Kerry was speaking they split the screen almost everytime to show Bush's expression but I don't recall that they split the screen but a couple of times when President Bush was speaking in order to see Kerry's expression.

I read somewhere that Fox News was supplying the cable video for all the networks to use. Do you know if this is true? If it is does that mean that what I saw on ABC was the way Fox shot it?

I noticed it when live. once the "debate" got going, I didn't really think about it. It will be interesting if the MSM decides to run with it though.

Kerry was speaking before Jim finished his questioning, but Kerry wasn't answering the questions. He was throwing out attacks against President Bush. Jim had to come back to Kerry several times and said you didn't answer my question so I'll ask it again.

Also going to my favorite Liberal hangout to let them see the true sKerry again and again. Also noting the "fair" questions asked at this debate (which were as left slanted as my livingroom roof).

I'm not saying he did. The dems are trying to muddy the waters, and throw focus off Kerry and his foreign object, which looks like a cheat sheet to me.

Fox News would have a front camera angle. If its paper, Kerry is gone.

I understand what you are saying, but I'm not caught up in the spin of Kerry, I think he made major errors (North Korea, Iran, global test, etc.). I do think his "presentation" was better as did many observers. If that advantage was gained or assisted by his violation of the rules, then I don't think it's inconsequential.

I Tivo'ed the debate and Kerry is obviously using a pen at minutes 13, 17, 34, 41, 47, and 51. Was the use of pens ok?
