After last nights debate, President Bush was campaigning in Allentown Pennsylvania and later in Manchester N.H. and pointed out the many contradicting and false statements that passed through the heavily lipstick covered lips of his opponent in last nights debate

I wondered if there were some Dem hackers on FR last night on that debate thread. I noticed on a couple left sites there were a few that were bragging about it .. so I'm thinking .. yep

Thank you! Birthday was good. W did well in his debate, and:
I went to lunch with my daughter and youngest granddaughter, which was nice. If all goes well and I can venture out, Monday I'll be seeing them again AND the older two grandkids that day, too. ;)

LOL, I had a little APC 300 before it died 2 months ago. The 1500 with piggy backed batteries is something my Computer Guru younger brother talked me into. I have no problem with filling the Generator with fossil fuel, yank the starting cord, and fire the PC's back up and surf Free Republic :-)

**Of course he blew him away in substance! I just hope the "undecideds" and others can see thru Kerry's slickness to the passion and substance the Pres. showed. I thought the Pres.' 'hesitation' seemed like he was uncertain at times, tho I KNOW he was just gathering his thoughts. He also needs to work on his "annoyed/pissed off" face so it's not quite so lemon-sucking-like. I'm sure you've read/heard that even tho people thought Kerry "won" the debate, of the undecideds who make a decision based on the debate, 10% said Kerry and 12% Bush. I think/hope he'll do a lot better next week in the town hall format, when he can just talk to "people".**
At first I thought GWB looked tired but then I thought no he is irritated and annoyed and is trying to control anger as Kerry's lies and flip flopping. I think he would have done better to have had a pop at Kerry got it out of his system and then concentrated on the debate IMHO he spent more time trying to control his anger than the actual debate.
Having said that his content was good better than Kerry but his presentation was not. I am certain his advisers had told him not to get angry/emotional at Kerry but I think this did not work.
I agree with you he will do better at the Town Hall type Q and A but the last debate he must not look pissed off with Kerry or irritated.
Having said all of this I think GWB got some good points over and he has on the stump made the points and answered Kerry's claims at the debate well but how many people will hear this. All in all I do not think that this will affect election race that much especially if GWB does well in the next 2 debates and also the Vice President on Tuesday. I think more peole than usual will tune in on Tuesday mainly because Edwards keeps sniping at Cheney and a lot of people think Edwards will murder Cheney (especially the RATS) but IMHO myself and a lot of people on FR feel that Cheney will in fat eat Edwards alive; slice and dice. I think Edwards and the RATS will be surprised on Tuesday.

Glad to hear Jonathan is doing well and doesn't sound like he'll be headed out of the US anytime soon! Glad to hear he'll be going back to school--I've got my kids convinced they're going to college no matter what--I don't care what they major in, just so they get some sort of degree. Maybe it's not always fair, but I think it's required to get most any type of job that's not minimum wage.

I'd rather it be me who was more critical, than the people who "really" matter (I'm voting for the Pres. no matter what!) I've been relieved the last few days to see on TV that the internal polls are very good for the Pres., and that even tho people think Kerry "won" more are still going to vote for the Pres.
I hope he gets some good rest before the next debate. Someone was speculating that tiredness was part of his expressions, appearing slow to answer, etc. When I see him when he's talking to and interacting with a "real" audience, I can't help but think he'll do much better in the town hall format.

I too think that ad works FOR the President. I don't think it's strange to show some emotion, esp. when Kerry was attacking him so personally and meanly.
I really have to question the wisdom of Kerry's ad people. Maybe Hillary picked them out. So many of his ads focus primarily of the President, to the point I think that's what people remember. Remember "W is for wrong?" That just put Dubya in people's mind. Then the one you mentioned, where again people are supposed to focus on the Pres. (not that I mind--TEEHEE!)
Another ad I've seen lately features a full screen of the President's face . . . I have no idea what the ad says, and was surprised the first time I heard "This ad approved by JFK" because all it showed is the Pres. (again, not that I mind . . . it's a nice photo of his face.)
