The well-dressed disrupter at the recent premiere of "Stolen Honor," a documentary film attacking John Kerry's role as a Vietnam War protester, has been identified as a Kerry campaign and Democratic National Committee staffer who had served time for manslaughter in a fatal shooting. Wayne F. Smith interrupted the question-and-answer session following the Sept. 9 showing in Washington, delivering a long speech assailing the film and defending Sen. Kerry. He did not identify himself, but he recently had joined the Kerry campaign's veterans outreach operation. The campaign told this column Thursday night that Smith worked for the DNC. Although Smith had an extension and a voicemail box at the campaign Thursday afternoon, it was removed by Friday morning. Old media accounts and "Stolen Valor," a 1998 book by Vietnam veteran B.G. Burkett, show that Smith, a Vietnam War medic, was sentenced to hard labor for being AWOL before his 1972 drug-related manslaughter conviction. Smith later obtained a college education and became executive director of the Justice Project, which attempts to use DNA evidence to exonerate unjustly convicted felons.

No problem Tonk. Ignore them. Hey- If Jim has no issue with you- who cares what Bossy pinheads say. Freeper or not. I think it is kind of funny to see this guy try and attack you and then run away when someone tells him to STHU, or ties to debate him.
I wonder why he is so bothered by your posts. Just like a liberal to play victim and whine about it- as if they don't have full use of their facilities. OTH, perhaps he doesn't have any fingers.. can't scroll over a post.. Hmmm?

Thanks Tonk, the Kerry campaign has managed to change the subject, and this needs to be back front and center along with the forged documents! We must not allow this to die off!! (like the Sandy Berger robbery of the archives did)

If you're going to complain about someone's attacks, you might not want to negate your entire post by including a personal attack in it.

How so? Does the term FR CANTEEN ring a bell? Does "hours a day" pinging others to appropriate threads ring a bell? Does military service ring a bell? More?

Do you think John Kerry is on Atkins? I don't know- he may or may not like spam. So- do you get a commission for numbers of unit sold?

Haven't you been here long enough to know how to look up one's profile page? Before you go around making foolish statements and aligning yourself with fools- you may want to do a bit of research first. Ok honey?

A friend of mine confessed today that she is a lurker. Somewhere on this site she found the daily thread reminding us not to forget 9/11 and folloowed the links to a video that the media never showed, of jumpers. She was in tears, and enraged and was reminded again what we fight for.
For so many of us, who have read once and scrolled past--it is an inconvenience. I have seen that video, and I cried the first time I saw it, and have sat dry eyed through it on other occassions when the MSM tries to tell me white is black.
And, I have complained to Tonk about slower page loads and yes, one more shot of a Hanoi Jane urinal target, but it occurs to me, that for someone hitting the site for the first time, it could be the validation that they are not alone, that their service is and was important-- important to many Americans who, until the invention of the internet and sites like this, had no forum (except for the occasional Veterans Day Parade, to acknowlege and honor their service, and discuss with other vets how it went so wrong.
I think of these slow page loads as being stuck behind a parade, now. So, Tonk-- march On. I will stand on the side and clap when you go by.
