My first post though I have been reading for quite a while. Last night, Kerry claimed that we "outsourced" the hunting of Bin Laden to warlords in Afghanistan. But isn't that exactly what Kerry wants to do in Iraq? "Outsource" the fighting to our "allies?" Were the warlords not our "allies" in that they wanted to get rid of the Taliban as well and were willing to do the fighting in our stead? In fact, Kerry wants to "outsource" this entire war does he not? It would appear that Kerry is now Pro-Outsourcing!

Kerry's "Global test" means he wants to outsource our national security to the UN.

AS I recall, didn't the USAF drop not one, but two GBU-43/B "Mother Of All Bombs" MOABs - Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb - on these sub-human vermin?

A usual Kerry inconsistency. The commanders on the ground in Afganistan felt that using the locals to fight would be better than committing troops to fight under conditions they weren't trained for. So, Kerry calls using locals to fight their own war for freedom "outsourcing." However, when we use our own troops, as was necessary, in Iraq - he says it is wrong. This guy is really confused.

If Kerry has his way there will be no more bunker buster bombs.

>Who ever knew those Afgan tribal leaders could fly B52s and drop those bunker busting bombs with such precicion?

And who ever knew
our guys could ride horses while
brandishing sabres?

..................................................................
U.S. Special Forces fighting in Afghanistan have joined with Northern Alliance cavalry units, riding on horseback and brandishing swords, revealed Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz on Sunday.

Wolfowitz confirmed the unusual arrangement on CBS's "Face the Nation."

"One of the reasons why it took a few weeks before we could make our air power fully effective was we had to get people in on the ground to direct air strikes," he noted, before reading what he said was a dispatch from the front lines as a stunned Bob Schieffer looked on.

WOLFOWITZ: I have with me a dispatch that came from one of our Special Forces guys who was literally riding horseback with a sword with one of the Northern Alliance....

SCHIEFFER: With a sword?

WOLFOWITZ: With a sword. With a Northern Alliance group of several hundred people who had nothing but horses and rifles. And he said:

"I am advising a man on how best to deploy light infantry and horse cavalry in the attack against Taliban tanks, mortars, artillery and machine guns -- a tactic I think became outdated with the invention of the Gatling gun. The Mujahadeen are doing very well with what they have but they couldn't do it without the close air support."

And he then goes on to describe how two of his enlisted people, one Air Force and one Army, had called in air strikes possibly - certainly from aircraft carriers, maybe from bombers in Missouri - while Taliban artillery was hitting 15 meters away. (End of Excerpt)

Wolfowitz called the effort "a return of the horse cavalry," but added, "no horse cavalry in history before this could call in air strikes from long range bombers."

"Do the people in Special Forces know how to ride horses?" an incredulous Schieffer asked. "I mean, there's a difference between jumping on a horse and hanging on and being able to ride it. Are they trained to ride horses?"

Wolfowitz said he wasn't sure but explained, "Apparently these guys were. They're trained in an extraordinary range of survival skills and local customs and languages. They're quite an amazing group."

As long as we were outsourcing, Kerry didn't have as many dead Americans to gleefully point out. He's un-American, a soulless husk of a human being.

If elected, Kerry promised new body armor for our military. Translation: UN Uniforms.

Good one! I was a little dissapointed that Bush didn't mention the first Gulf War and Kerrys not supporting it then either, even though the coalition was larger.

Kerry's a disingenuous jackass...but we already knew that.

He complains of "outsourcing" the hunt for OBL? Well, jackass, that's the way Special Forces do business.

You remember Special Forces, don't you jackass? They're the guys that you proposed to magically double in number the week you're elected.

the point is if we would have finished the job in afghanistan, truly knocked out the talban forever and decimmated al quaida we wouldn't have to go to iraq. saddam didn't have WMDs and we wouldn't be losing so many of our young people on what was a wild goose chase.

afghanistan, yes....iraq,....no.

i know i'll be flamed but i'm prepared to deal with it.

I've never seen or heard of any evidence that suggests that we're doing a poorer job in Afghanistan because we invaded Iraq. As the president said, "we're capable of doing both". Outsourcing of soldiers in Afghanistan allowed pepople with more experience in the area (Northern Alliance) to not only show us where to step, but to contribute more firepower.
Another thing: I'm no backseat general. It was a good plan. There were probably better plans, but until someone figures out how to see the future, we'll never know. I'm happy with the results.

my frustration is that we continue to lose our soldiers to save a populace that continues to hate our guts.
our people are too valuable, and i'm afraid i just don't care about the iraqis being free.
