Thread 1 - Pre-Debate discussion
It wasn't that bad, usmom. Some of the other Freepers are blowing things way outta proportion. They were expecting Bush to win the election tonight, apparently, forgetting that we still got more than a month to go. We need to conserve our ammo. Also, let me remind everybody, in 2000 there was lot of hand-wringing going on after the Bush-Gore debates. "Did Gore win? Oh no, Gore won didn't he! Excuse me while I put my head in the oven!" The funny thing is, all this week I've been seeing clips from those debates and their hilarious. Gore was such a child: rolling his eyes, SIGHING loudly, sweating profusely. Yet, we feared that this goober out-debated Bush. Same thing tonight. We saw a genuine human being talking to a manicured robot.
In other words, he kept saying he would "hunt down and destroy Islamic terrorists wherever they may be" and then on the other hand followed that up with promising to be the first one to bring the troops home.
I didn't see a single thing new in the entire debate.
I find Kerry very annoying. His hand jesters and shifting from side to side irritate me. I can't hear what he is saying because of it. I think he was too prepared! He knew exactly what he needed to say. Tin Foil On!
Realistically, Coyote, no president would EVER use nukes except in retaliation for a nuclear attack on us or our closest allies. It just wouldn't be done.
You people would buy a used car from Kerry but buyers's remorse would have you back the next morning getting your money back.
Same thing happened tonight.
It's only petty if YOU are not being affected. If you were on a modem it would suddenly be very, very important.
Spot on! I agree with you completely.
LOL
Even Joe Lockhart admitted (though he didn't intend for us to know it) that it was at BEST for them a draw. Those of us who said Bush won were correct.
I will allow myself to gloat a little. Jonah needs to get a grip usually. He tends to be a little nellyish.
The gift that keeps on giving!
LOL. Yes.
I agree Bush did just fine!
Got Kerry to admit he NEEDS the UN
Bush does not!
Bush WON!!!
You know, the more I think about Jim Lehrer and his questions, the madder I am getting.
Kerry has one issue, right? And it just so happens that 99 percent of the questions in the "Foreign Policy" debate are about Iraq -- and nothing else.
And not just about Iraq, but about Bush's policies in Iraq.
I just saw Lockhart say that Kerry won the debate BIG TIME. And most of the polls coming in agree.
I like seeing graphics... and I don't believe the slowness of the system, (and it was bad ) was due to the graphics!
There wasn't that much graphics !

Does Fox have any conservatives anymore?
Well, being on a particular FreeRepublic thread has never been something I considered life or death, but maybe I'm just unusually self-sufficient. (I haven't had a modem for years...they still make them?)
