Thread 1 - Pre-Debate discussion
>>It was at the beginning of the debate.<<
Can we get that information out to anyone?
It would be a hoot if we learned that SKerry had the questions and GWB did not!
No drama, Prairie.. just raw truth. We can't spin this one.. GW lost it.. he was indecisive, weak, and wavering in his voice and demeanor. And he lost that 17% with his performance. This race is tight.. and he blinked bigtime.
I hate it. I'm sick about it. But it's the truth... the dem's have the momentum now and it will be h*ll to get it back, if we ever can. After the election you can call me a "drama queeen", but not before.
I just heard Carl Cameron on FOX say the dems were going to release clips of Bush making faces tomorrow, but I thought I heard someone reading rules for the debate prior to its start saying that no clips could be used of the debates by either party. Anyone have more info?
Also, I feel the biggest thing that hurt Bush is this debate was during his bedtime. He gets up so darn early and you all know that if you are used to getting up at the same time everyday it is impossible to change you sleep wake cycle in just a few days. Does anyone know if all debates will be at this same time?
I also don't agree with the people that think Jim Leher's questions were fair. I thought they were questions meant to put Bush on the defensive and give Kerry an open door for his rhetoric. A good question might have been to Kerry "There have been no new attacks on American soil since 9/11. Doesn't this back up Bush's contention it is better to fight the terrorists in their own backyard rather than here?"
"Right or wrong the media is still a mighty powerful spin machine and they were the main reason Bush 41 was defeated."
Ross Perot was the reason Bush Sr lost reelection. You're a troll.
LOL. My husband and I did the same thing. We were paying attention, too. He went from one thought right into another, like even he forgot what he was talking about. He never did answer a question. LOL.
I thought so too, very ochestrated. I found it creepy that someone could be that on. The memorized dates, facts, years, etc. combined with the choreographed hand moves, throw in the manic writing while Bush was talking, almost like he was trying to appear scholarly. Weird.
But then, I found it odd that the President went into a debate armed only with five talking points.
I see exactly what you were saying now. Very good points and I agree with your assessment.

I agree his hand gestures were annoying. But I was really getting confused trying to figure out where his right eye was looking and his left eye. I think he was trying to talk to the moderator most of the time while trying to get his left eye to peak at Bush.
Bush spoke to the camera (which brings him into the living room). I swear I don't think these people watched the same debate that I watched.
Word on FOX was that the Kerry clowns are going to use the outtakes from tonight of Bush as he seemed annoyed etc to use in an ad professing Bush still refuses to take responsiblilty for the war..wrong war, wrong time, wrong way etc...
If he barely manages a wash in a topic we ought to win, I am worried to see what happens with the next two.
I agree. BUT!!!! WE are more educated than we were four years ago. WE can turn this around WITHOUT that $%#$^%$^ media.
Apparently, Joe Lockhart saw Bush landing punches:

That I have. :-)
Foldercarb or is it boulderfarb, Does anyone remember Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica. Help me here! According to Dick Morris, Bush won on substance, Kerry on style. Morris said that Bush looked distracted during the first 20 minutes.
I didn't watch the debate, I was in another room praying for Bush. My husband watched and said that Bush didn't lose anything and Kerry didn't win anything. He agrees with Dick Morris, that Bush won on substance.
In my opinion, substance is what is all about. Style is forgotten, real people look and remember substance. All of us probably need to freep some polls just
From your screen name, you wouldn't happen to live in Hampton, would you? LOL.
It's painting your face orange and see whether you get a thumbs up or a thumbs down from the countries of the world.
