Franks said Kerry lied; troops have increased in Afghanistan all along.

They should double the talk time to Bush...

half of it to use for his positions, half of it to use to refute and debunk the lies of Kerry.

I mean he was better prepared for the debate, that's all.

The fact checkers will undoubtedly find that he was devoid of truth, and either way, the debates probably don't make a big difference one way or the other.

Tommy Franks is helping to hammer home W's points. Great. And Rudy Guiliani did the same thing earlier.

No doubt about where the General stands!

When Kerry said Sodamn Insane was a threat, I thought Bush would latch on to sKerry's flip flop. Let a great opportunity sKerry away.

I listened to the first 40 or so minutes on radio and thought Bush sounded off his game. But after watching the video tape, he looked a lot better. I think it may have been the difference in sound. The radio brought out the pauses and sighs which didn't come across the same way seeing it on video.

The president didn't hit a homerun and he may have taken more than he dished out, but it was far from a disaster.

Initial reactions are that Kerry was polished, slick and presidential and Bush seemed to lack confidence. But as time passes, the substance of the debates comes into focus. With no zingers apart from Bush' retort to Krry's "global test" gaffe, the lingering waft of the debate will reveal that Kerry didn't score too much. Not even many pedants like pedantry.

I wish Bush had said that to Kerry on camera, during the debate. He should have.

Agree with you wholeheartedly on what Bush wanted to accomplish tonite. Give it some time for the debate to digest... Bush won.

There is a draft in the works... championed by the anti-war Left, one Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) in particular. They are pressing legislation for the express purpose of undermining support for the war - they figure that fear of a draft can be utilized in opposing war policy.

"Keep it simple, stupid" is the President's strategy and it will work.

He started fantastic. It looked like a first round KO of Kerry. But after that, he dropped the ball. And I think Kerry won. Substantially. It's one thing to be simple and clear. But Bush didnt offer a strong calm and concise articulation of his positions. He seemed weak. We've had serious terorists alerts in this country, we've spent 200 billion dollars in Iraq. We have combat troops in the field. There is some uncertainty in the world, no?

Presidnt Bush should have appeared more CONFIDENT. He looked uncertain about what he was saying. He pauses too often before he speaks. And he took too long to search for words. His reaction shots hurt him. They showed his discomfort. He felt he wasn't winning. It was visible. That;s not helpful to his cause.

first round: KERRY

"I was rewatching the replay on C-Span and when Kerry spouted off about "this president doesn't understand the stakes in Iraq, Europe doesn't want a civil war on their doorsteps", I had to turn it off. Kerry is effin' nuts. God help us if he gets into power. I frankly can't even stand to listen to the man--he makes no sense."

I am proud how well President Bush maintained his composure, I was incredulous from the beginning, listening to the lies, distortions, and mockery this man makes of the office of President of the United States.

Hi, JustaCowgirl:

Hannity is smiling and having a ball surgically dissecting Bob Graham right now.

I know it's one-sided, but It's Quality Television!

No drama, Prairie.. just raw truth. We can't spin this one.. GW lost it.. he was indecisive, weak, and wavering in his voice and demeanor. And he lost that 17% with his performance. This race is tight.. and he blinked bigtime.

I hate it. I'm sick about it. But it's the truth... the dem's have the momentum now and it will be h*ll to get it back, if we ever can. After the election you can call me a "drama queeen", but not before.
