There have been several "live threads" posted today regarding the debate starting early this morning. Let's make this the official thread.
FR Live Thread: Bush Kerry - First Debate - Thread 2 - Here we go!
Boulderfarb! or is it Foldercarp! somebody help me here, does anybody remember Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica? I can't get that out of my head....anyway Bologney (sp) there I go again...respectfully :)
We all knew Pres. Bush was not a star debater, all he had to do was to keep his advantage and he did. He won on substance, Kerry on style, but who cares about style, substance is the only thing that matters. Bush still relates to real people while Kerry is off in his own prep world.
I will say it again, let's go freep some polls!
John Kerry's debating skills and persuasive abiliities never seemed to produce any evidence of any legistlative results in his 20 years in the US Senate.
Lots of silver-tongued professionals in the Senate.
In private industry Kerry was a crooked partner.
In the DA's office he was a climbing back-stabber who finally got booted out.
In Viet Nam his so-called "2 tours" were for only 19 missions over 4 months.
At Yale Kerry got lower grades than GW Bush.
In the US Senate and on the Senate Intelligence Committe he was missing 86% of the time.
The difference between myself and Irish John Kerry is I can whip him in any debate using truth as Kerry only spews his cowardly lies and "world view". I never hesitate.... And I never lose to losers like John Kerry.
P.S. - Comparing himself to Jack Kennedy who only had a 119 is a losing comment - The IQ may be about the same but JFK knew when to keep his mouth shut, if not his fly.
John Kerry: The 14% Solution!
SS for less than 35 days now John.....
My sense was that he did that with at least half the questions. None of his questions put kerry on the spot.
Note how Kerry slipped in stem-cell research, education, and healthcare into a foreign policy debate tonight.
On domestic issues Admiral Kerry will again slip in his "leadership under fire" (19 missions total in 4 months!) and the moderator will again let it slide like tonight.

John Kerry on Defense
Kerry's voting record:
He voted to kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
He voted to kill the M-1 Abrams Tank.
He voted to kill every aircraft carrier laid down from 1988.
He voted to kill the Aegis anti aircraft system.
He voted to Kill the F-15 Strike Eagle.
He voted to Kill the Block 60 F-16.
He voted to Kill the P-3 Orion upgrade.
He voted to Kill the B-1.
He voted to Kill the B-2.
He voted to Kill the Patriot Anti Missile System.
He voted to Kill the FA-18.
He voted to Kill the B-2.
He voted to Kill the F117.
In short, he voted to kill every military appropriation for the development and deployment of every weapons systems since 1988 to include the battle armor for our troops.
With Kerry as president our Army will be made up of naked men running around with sticks and clubs.
He also voted to kill all anti terrorism activities of every agency of the U.S. Government and to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%, to cut the funding for the CIA by 80%, and cut the funding for the NSA by 80%.
But then he voted to increase OUR funding for U.N. operations by 800%!
Is THIS a President YOU want?

Kerry was all show, waving his hands and making extravagant claims.
Bush was the quarterback with mud on his cheek.
"It's hard work."
And Americans agree--and will not entrust it to the poof with frosted hair and manicure.

Eddy Haskell! You got that right, oh it makes me sick to imagine Eddy Haskell running the country. Kerry is what you say!
Has Kerry so much time that he can waste a trip to a beauty shop or nail salon to get a simple manicure that any trained monkey can do using fingernail clippers in under three minutes?
What is wrong in this dork's brain?
Is his life that shallow?
86% time off from his US Senate job leaving him with too much spare time?
Cannot manage to use a nailclipper?
Are Boston liberals all so helpless and inadequate?
Break a nail catching a football with your eyes closed again?
If Teresa can do her own hair can't you do your own fingernails?
I have a hunch John Kerry's butler must have to do more than make peanut butter sandwiches for him.
TMI!
Exactly, and most of them have gone back to the "idiot cowboy" reference.
He did look kind of tired to me. Rush Limbaugh said a few days ago that Bush typically goes to bed around 9pm ET, the same time the debate was held.
To the uninformed and uncritical, Kerry seemed to win. That impression will fade away, when the reality of all those inconsistencies (and flatly inaccurate statements) settle in on the country --even through our present media milieu.
I think it may take about 18 hours.
Man what a great list of stuff to sort through!
Did some Democrat stage the fake anthrax threat in Florida this afternoon, to distract President Bush before the debate?

I'm not listening to any of the spin meisters.
They NEED to try to make this a close race.
It isn't.
BUT, we must vote and get out the vote on our side.
Landslide/bloodbath -- nothing less.
I thought about that when I read the headline this afternoon.
I agree. I think that if Bush wants to put Kerry away for good in this race in the next debate, he's going to have to come armed with the facts and use them. The race hasn't even tightened, heck, the latest polls show no difference of opinion of the two men, which is good news for Bush, because I think most uninformed viewers got the impression Kerry won.
