There have been several "live threads" posted today regarding the debate starting early this morning. Let's make this the official thread.
FR Live Thread: Bush Kerry - First Debate - Thread 2 - Here we go!
Finally getting a chance to go back and review comments on this thread after getting on the other one. I did not make this point there and haven't seen anyone else state it, but I think when Kerry said "WMD" crossing he meant to say "terrorists". I think if this is brought up he'll say something like when people say Saddam was a WMD---terrorists are WMD, see? But I think in actuality he misspoke.
Joe Hadenuf's little double-digit IQ acolyte? Nice stance.
I HATE the way ugly old men have corrupted the immigration issue on FR, and you are one of the worst.
The average Joe on the street not knowing squat about the real issues (which is a large number) would lean to Kerry because Kerry is actually a better debater (read: politician) than Bush is.
Kerry of course flip-flopped several times on present and past positions on Iraq followed always by his promise to pull the troops out before Bush would.
Kerry never gave a real plan on Iraq and never really showed any leadership at all whereas Bush gave realistic answers ("We're not going to pull out of Iraq until we reach the objective of bringing freedom and democracy to the people of Iraq.")
Neither gained much more than what they had when they went into this debate and it was so boring I fell asleep and had to rewind to see what I missed.
He didn't look angry. He looked scornful.
Nah. You're not really that smart. In fact, "STOOPID" comes to mind.
But that's "ME". And I'm usually ... not always ... but not always right.
You are a goof and probably a loser.
Kerry DID mention WMD's crossing the border. Yes, the WMD's that Sadamn sneaked over the border to Syria while we waited for the UN weapons inspectors to search for same in IRAQ.
:^(
Bush won big.
Don't kid yourself.
Kerry is through.
Nice turn of phrase...
For a thirteen year old girl.
Well, the first polls are coming in showing Kerry won the debates BIG TIME.
Bush has the superior position, but argued as though he had the weakest position. I love Bush but he's a pathetic debater!
You sound like a distraught Cheerleader whose team just lost a game. Cheer Up! There are other games. The season is not over. Lose the angry face and Get those Poms Poms Up!
Excellent points, betty boop! xzins, there may be some fresh pickings for your list on betty boop's post at 2866.
How can I disagree with that statement! kerry is a WMD!
LLS
I'm talking about *general public* reaction and not GOP faithful.
Personally, it was one of the most boring debates I've ever seen.
Believe what you will, Jorge! We hereby part in respectful though irreconcilable difference.
Either way he looked like Kerry got under his skin. That is exactly how Carter looked in the first debates with Reagan.
This makes Bush look like a loser to me. I am just sick over it.
I just got a great idea. We have a big security issue brewing in Washington state. Very explosive. Could be harmful to American citizens - even explosive. As Kerry is so much into inspections and talks in place of actually doing something, can we get Kerry to send in inspectors to the state and then personally go talk to Helen and calm her down. He's dull enough to put a valcanoe to sleep - might work. If it doesn't well, maybe it will prove once and for all that putting an explosive element in time out for a discussion and a latte' doesn't solve a problem - the first or the Sixteenth time if the party has no interest in listening or doing what they agree to. Mr Kerry, go negotiate a peaceful resolution with the mountain so that St. Helens doesn't erupt and hurt anyone.. lol
Take the fight elsewhere,please.
