Wow! That was fun and very fastpaced! I just enjoyed reading what everyone had to say--I couldn't get through to make a comment. God bless the president--hope he is even stronger for the next debate.

What? Kerry didn't win the debate.

I'm Proud of President Bush tonight. He made the point that he is President of the United States and will not let politics or other nations influence his decisions. He will protect America.

In the long run the people who don't follow politics will remember the way Kerry insulted our President tonight. Kerry said nothing of substance and spoke in tangents. I'm glad President Bush didn't get off track defending each one of the millions of insults and lies Kerry threw his way. Bush didn't go down to his level.

President Bush stayed on his message. That is what he wanted to accomplish. Who the hell cares if he stuttered once or maybe twice.

I sincerely doubt the majority of people base their vote solely on one or two words not coming out perfect.

LOL.

The President did EVERYTHING he needed to do tonight.

Everyone is projecting their fear and doubt into this debate. Bush had none.

He is who he is. One of theg reatest CEO's in human history.

Folks SENSE Bush. That's why he always wins. He always wins.

He always wins. And I'm happy as hell. He'll win on November 2, and he'll retire to the media revisionist history of the dolt who through family connections and serendipity ... never lost.

He retained Laura's love, that did it for me.

Jung is toast.

The President is in a box. Kerry talks about a coalition - meaning France, Germany and Russia. Bush would love to say that they have been complicit with Saddam Hussein, through the Oil for Food program, but he can't piss them off because he may need them in the future.

Hopefully, people will realize this.

The new talking points are materializing: 'we must have gotten to Bush- did you see the smirk-uncomfortable expression-sour face?' per Cee Cee and Bug-eyed Joe Lockhart.

Trying to edit the closed-caption transcript -- much of it came out looking like Klingon ;-(

May have to get it from the on-line news sources...

Yep, the little friggin traitor had a pretty good night to get his treason viewpoints across.

Well the shocker is the lies were not lost on CNN and one of their commentators corrected at least six adding that last he heard Osama was not in Afghanistan but in Pakistan. Tommy Franks cleared up other lies about not having an exit plan, etc. Turned off fox because of some negative comments and was pleasantly surprised to hear more positive ones from CNN.

It was a blow-out.
The pundits are straining to make this a race.
We're switching to the football game here.

I do not have a Democratic view.

I come from a long line of Southern Democrats and I understand how they perceived the debate.

I told you, I'm worried that Kerry gained ground with this debate. He should have been hammered. And wasn't.

Leave me alone. I'm distressed enough already.

Hume on FNC about to talk about the email they are beginning to get about the debate. I THINK he's about to bring up the Terry McAuliffe "flood the networks with e-mail after the debate" campaign he launched earlier today and is talked about in another thread on FR.

Kerry was so far behind he had to win (almost overwhelmingly) to regain even parity with Pres. Bush. That didn't happen.

The disadvantage?

By not getting killed himself, Kerry's minions in the national press corpse can declare "victory" and try to push him back loser.

Kerry had so much riding on these debates (all three!) that he can't afford even the impression of "not winning."

The President stayed on message. How many times did he say "mixed message"? He is more like most of the viewers than JFK is, and it came across.

Without reading the prior posts, I believe President Bush got his head handed to him. I can't believe how inarticulate he was and with such a smug look on his face.

More importantly, I was disappointed that with Kerry babbling on about coalitions that Bush did not speak of sovereignty until his closing remarks. I was also disappointed that Bush did not tell Kerry he has no way of knowing the intricacies of the innner circle's state policies.

And why did it take Bush in his closing comments to finally make the point of keeping terrorism offshore? He eluded to that frequently about being on the "offense", but didn't make it clear to the average American about taking the fight to them.

Also, I kept hearing "talking points" from Bush, which is usually the demcRATs M.O.

He just lost 5 points in his lead. That said, there's a big difference between a leader and a "slick" talker.

Brit Hume, or maybe it was Kondracke, said Bush seemed tired. I think they're right.
