Having predictively nailed John McCain, I'd like to offer my brief thoughts on what Kerry will do tonight, and invite yours.
Today's Democratic Party's notion of Real Leadership could be defined thus: the ability to say, with the most nuanced conviction, "Wahh!!"
And so, since the Swift Both Vets' ads and Bush's ads have scored some tellingly accurate direct hits, and since those hits have cost Kerry dearly, I think this is Kerry's biggest plan. I think that he is being advised that the knockout punch will be to cry and moan and complain, and to put the President on the defensive. He will whine that the ads are mean-spirited and despicable. He will bellyache that they're the worst he's ever seen. And since evidently this vampire hasn't yet been staked with sufficient authority, he will whimper that (sing it with me) his Patriotism is Being Questioned.
The design of this will be to force the President to be on the defensive, to apologize, to disown.
Now, what Mr. Bush should say (but won't) is to ask, "So let's review. I'd like Mr. Kerry to say what I have said so far, repeatedly, about his patriotism, and about these ads. And if he can't, I'd like him to explain why anyone should think he'd hear tonight what he's failed to hear for lo these many weeks."
Or he should say (but won't), "I support Mr. Kerry's right to free speech. Does he not support the same right to other veterans, if that speech is critical of him?"
Or he should say (but won't), "I have wondered again and again: what exactly did Mr. Kerry mean when he said, 'Bring it on'? Now all we hear is 'Call it off!'"
Or he should say (but won't), "Someone should tell Mr. Kerry that being President is a rough job. It inevitable involves being the target of a lot of harsh criticism. If he can't take the pressure at this point, when he is selling his strength of character to the nation, perhaps he should reconsider his own immediate career plans."
So, Kerry will say "Wah!" about twelve different times, in about twelve different ways. I'm betting that's his main plan.
His other supposed knockout punch will be to ask where bin Laden is.
He is gonna get his ass kicked up between his ears.

my prediction, kerry comes off as a stiff, orange pompous ass, and bush is a folksy down to earth guy. kerry debates the nuances of his positions, while bush connects with the voters.
This is what Kerry is going to do in the debate on Thursday night
Flip flop for the fiftieth time and go to the “Right” of President Bush on the war on terror and Iraq
He will say that he will tougher and smarter than President Bush so he will be seen as the tougher guy who will destroy the terrorists everywhere.
Accuse President Bush that he did not finish the job of killing Bin Laden in Tora Bora and Afghanistnan. He will say that if he is President he will pursue Bin Laden and capture or kill him.
Accuse President Bush that he did not finish the job in Fallujah against insurgents and terrorists and this has caused all the trouble in Iraq right now. He will say that if he is President he would have destroyed the terrorists in Fallujah.
Kerry will try to be calm and speak in a Reaganesque way so the audience will be charmed by him.
He will change his position on the war on Iraq at least 3 times and then blame the moderator for twisting what he said... Its his standard...
It was Bush that first said "Bring it On"
Kerry denounced him for it and too up the phrase to mock Bush.
Kerry can't stop his words from wandering for 90 minutes. He will also lose big on the reaction shots, since he has to try to look Human, while Bush just has to be himself.

If he does those two things, which totally undermine Kerry's best points, Kerry is a gonner.
When Kerry whines and moans about the ads, Bush will say a couple of brief words about "being against all of those ads" and a couple of brief words about Kerry's "patriotic service in the military" and then take off from there about "what I'm more interested in is what he's done in the last 20 years in the Senate", and go on to blast his abysmal voting record.
Thus, every time Kerry goes "WHHHAAAA, the ads are so mean to me!", Bush will get an opportunity to repeat: "The real issue is the last 20 years, and how many weapons systems you voted against."
He will mention vietnam at least four times.
At some point, Kerry will lose his cool and point at the President. It will seem petty and suck the oxygen from the room.
I think F'n will do what worked for him in the Weld debates: belligerence. We all know how this will work if he applies this to our President.
I also think he will attempt to be human, smiling occasionally; maybe removing his coat. Watch the eyes, though. They will never match his artificial smile.
And watch the lizard tongue. I doubt he can restrain it for 90 minutes.

Didn't you see the Kerry Crackups yesterday? He's got makeup people on the orange deal.
PREDICTION:
* Kerry will give a mediocre-to-lame performance
* It will immediately be hailed by the Establishment Media as one of the best performances ever in the history of the world.
* A few days later, polls will come out indicating Kerry got no bump whatsoever.
* The media will then focus on the fact that the next two debates are about domestic policy, which is Kerry's strong suit and where Bush is most vulnerable.
* 12 or 16 years from now, the Establishment Media will liken some GOP candidate's debate performance to the hapless and disasterous performance turned in by John Kerry in 2004.
W is going to clean Kerry's clock. It will be sheer pleasure to behold. The Dims of the media will spin it 180 degrees.
Kerry will trip over his ego about 45 minutes into the debates. The rest of the time he will be struggling with his superiority complex which demands he talks in obscure liberal nuances and the audience will lose him in the first hour, if not sooner. He is so obnoxious, and the majority of Americans cannot stand the blue blood, uppity, snobbish intellectualism that he wraps himself in. He will be exposed for the intellectual idiot he is, and end up with all his nuances stuffed up his @$$!!
To which Bush should reply, "I didn't know Senator Kerry was on such good terms with President Musharif that we would be allowed to invade Pakistan. I don't believe Senator Kerry counts Pakistan as an ally in the War on Terror".
