NEW BUSH-CHENEY '04 TV AD: Searching
Bush-Cheney '04 Campaign ^ | 27 September 2004 | Bush-Cheney '04

Posted on 09/27/2004 7:20:43 AM PDT by PhiKapMom

Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "Searching." The ad contrasts John Kerry's numerous different positions on the War on Terror and asks how he can protect us when he does not even know where he stands. You can view and link to the ad at:

http://www.georgewbush.com/videoandaudio/

A screenshot and transcript are below:

President Bush:

I'm George W. Bush and I approve this message.

John Kerry:

"It was the right decision to disarm Saddam Hussein, and when the President made the decision I supported him."

"I don't believe the President took us to war as he should have."

"The winning of the war was brilliant."

"It's the wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time."

"I have always said we may yet even find weapons of mass destruction."

"I actually did vote for the 87 billion dollars before I voted against it."

Graphic:

How can John Kerry protect us…

…when he doesn't even know where he stands?

Good ad. I think they should have gone 60-seconds and shown even more of the flip-flops. For example, when he said we should spend whatever it takes, and later criticized the cost. You could fill an hour with Kerry's contortions on Iraq.

They need the rock and roll song about 'Searching' as background music to the ad... I can't remember the group from the 50s-60s.......

Del Shannon's Keep Searchin' (We'll Follow the Sun)

No one will understand What I've gotta do

I've got to find a place to hide

With my baby by my side

She's been hurt so much

They treat her mean and cruel

They try to keep us far apart

There's only one thing left we can do

We gotta keep searchin' searchin'

Find a place to hide

Searchin' searchin'

She'll be by my side

If we gotta keep on the run

We'll follow the sun

Follow the sun

Love the ad! For another, they could splice together some of the hissy-fit comments made by John Edwards to John Kerry during the primaries, and vice-versa. That was the only time that these snake-oil salesmen were telling the truth about each other. The truth period.

LOL!!! You are right -- a song like that would be perfect as background.

"it has the exorcist theme playing in the background. "

Darn, I was hoping you were serious! I loved their choice of background music at the Repub. convention, very tongue in cheek. Like playing a riff from 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia' for Zell's entrance (which they did). Someone else posted that Cheney's music was 'I Love the Sound of Broken Glass.' I thought it should be Mack the Knife.

Where did you see the ad? This is one time I almost wish OK was in play but Kerry is so low here, he never came back after the primary when he placed 3rd! Guess he doesn't like us! :)

"Searchin' (for an answer)" by Chicago in 1976 would be better.

Kerry has provided so many clips of flip flops for the BC'04 campaign that I don't think they are going to have time to use them all. I don't believe I have seen a worse candidate in my lifetime for President and I thought Gore was bad.

questioning his 'leadership' abilities might be good idea as well. That is huge kerry weak point.

You're right, that's one of Kerry's most critical weak points. I suppose they're leaving that for the viewer to read between the lines. I'm not knowledgeable about this kind of ad psychology, but I'll bet the RNC has people that are, and they must know that connection gets made.

Yes, the ad uses sKerry's own words. But shame on Bush-Cheney '04 for taking sKerry's word out of context like that. Very unfair!!

This is good information for people who are evaluationg John Kerry.

What the GOP could also use is an ad that attacks anyone who would vote "Anyone But Bush." I'm not sure how such an ad could be constructed. But all the Kerry supporters I know don't even care what Kerry supports. All they care about is that we not have W. in the White House for 4 more years. It's hard to do anything with that in a TV ad.

Shalom.

You could fill an hour with Kerry's contortions on Iraq.

Or several more 30-second ads..there could be "still searching"..."will He ever find a position?"...etc.

To: PhiKapMom; All

This is exactly what Bush needs to use against Kerry in the debates.

As for the Mission Accomplished sign...which that idiot Kerry will bring up.

BUSH NEEDS TO POINT OUT THAT THEY HAD ACCOMPLISHED THE MISSION OF LIBERATING IRAQ FROM AN EVIL DICTATORSHIP THAT KILLED 100's OF 1000s.

Thus....they indeed did accomplish their primary mission.

and then he should look at Kerry and challenge him on the point by saying...

" Botox Boy, go ahead and look in that camera and make your false claim that our military did not accomplish that mission. Lie to them and the world and claim that Saddam is still in power.
...look in that camera and keep the wrong position of telling the troops that they are not deserving of our thanks and well wishes.
Because that is basically what you have been saying for over 6 months, Mr. Kerry. And what you have been saying is wrong.
As for me and this administration.....we proudly stand by that sign. Our troops are wonderful liberators....and they DID accomplish the mission of freeing Iraq.
I'm George W. Bush....and I approved that sign...and I approve of our great troops".

That would put Kerry in a serious hole.

Yeah, me too! Bush is a dumby-headed meany-face. It just shows how stoooopid the president and those who support him are, because they don't understand how you can be for and against anything and everything and make a decision. Duh! "Nuance" is just beyond some people...
