Why no Licenses for Illegals?

Posted on 09/26/2004 1:18:04 PM PDT by OneYoungConservative

I was just wondering if everybody would be willing to post the ideas and philisophies as to why Illegals should not be allowed to have driver's licenses.

Fair request. In my case my opposition has absolutely nothing to do with their race (what is that, anyway? Hispanic, Latino; they argue amongst themselves about this because it's NOT a "race thing". Long story.), their general refusal to assimilate or anything about them as people. Bottom-Line: They just don't belong here when so many good people around the world have to wait years contending with their own government's crap trying to get here the right and legal way.

The whole invasion thing is about profits and convenience versus The Rule of Law, a total betrayal of our founders' vision and the sacrifices our ancestors made to get us to this point. To give these line-jumpers licenses would erase the last difference between their non-deserved butts and actual citizens (Californian Earnest Zedillo's sole motivation in life). Types like him are legion when we used to thin out that herd with righteous rope-stretching (you won't find much of that documented). Since the Judicial Branch of Government has slowly morphed from pinch-hitters to godlings the attorney class has run totally amok. Read the encyclopedia on the side of any new ladder sometime if you have any doubt about that.

Then there's the outright fact that foreign driver's licenses are legally honorable here. You don't hear anything about that because the press finds writing about supposedly helpless and suppressed people sells more papers and garners more prizes for supposedly responsible journalism. They cynically milk and perpetuate the cult of victimhood for every cent they can.

I could go on but I think you have a clue now that everything around this problem reeks of corruption and enablers in positions of power. I'd be scared but for having no family or hopes, so I actually look forward to something interesting like "unofficials" busting in. The Feds just shot an obviously unarmed man the other day because he was trying to follow their directions. Now I can't see how following their directions would be the wise thing to do. They broke common rules of engagement AND showed they have no more respect for we citizens than they would vicious gangsters when they did that. That whole incident occurred because the Federal government is presently more focused on taking down people who'd presume to defend our borders while our government flatly refuses to adequately perform that responsibility.

Are you really willing to dig into this subject? I wish someone who calls themselves a newsperson had the cajones to.

They are criminals by default of being here illegally. Driving is a priviledge and not a right.

They still will not afford the insurance, so folded into the bill will be some surcharge on your insurance to cover their insurance costs.

More reasons for liberals to raise your hidden fees and taxes.

They should have no rights. There are here illegally, so send them and their families home. We cannot fit everyone into the already overcrowded schools, hospitals, housing, food stamp program, free lunch program, bi lingual everything.

Allowing illegal immigration is a slap in the face to those who wait their turn and apply legally. Being forced to support illegal aliens is a slap in the face to all American citizens/taxpayers. Our government doesn't bother to enforce the laws they swore under oath to enforce.

Any other lawbreakers you want to reward for lawbreaking?

They don't need them. There's no law on the books here in CA that says you need a CA driver's license to drive on our roads. A Mexican license is just as valid here as one from New York, Arizona, or South Dakota.

Gene, you are the first person, in my memory of this smouldering controversy, to point out this out. Anyone with a valid license from anywhere can legally drive anywhere on this planet!

There is something called an "International Driver's License" which you buy at AAA, but all that does is patiently explain to local cops in a variety of languages, including Arabic, Chinese, and god knows what else, that the "Bearer has a Valid Driving License in the Bearer's Home Country"

If illegal aliens don't have licenses, they shouldn't be driving anywhere. Thank you for this blinding glimpse of what should have been obvious to all.

It's not about the driving. It's about ID.

Because you don't reward law breaking invaders with a priviledge reserved for legal law abiding citizens.

I'll go you one better than that. Illegals shouldn't even be in this country, if our politicians followed our laws. If you are a young conservative, good luck living in a future America that will be dominated by Mexicans.

Your vote will amount to nothing, because millions of illegals will vote for socialists who will steal every dime you make. You'll be paying through the nose for every illegal in the world to come here to be tittied by the elected traitors in government, in order to get votes.

Drugs and human trafficking will be rampant, and your children won't be safe on any street. Their schools will become hell holes and the freedoms you have known as a child will not exist for them. Your President and Representatives will be crooks, and if you cause any problems for them they'll have you jailed or killed.

If you could see two inches past your nose, you wouldn't even have to be told these things. And use the spell check next time.

Last time I checked, people who break the law are not entitled to privileges. Driving is a privilege. Incidentally, I consider it a privilege to do/have a lot of things that the libs take for granted -- don't buy into the whole "PC-can't-offend-anyone-lest-you-be-considered-a-mean-jerk" attitude. I pay a lot in taxes to fund these "non-documented" people and I am sick of it. I am sick of being penalized for trying to better myself by getting an education, becoming a professional, etc. Sorry that Mexico sucks, but why should the American's have to apologize by picking up the tab for the illegals?
